Vehicle description
Very nice looking Ramcharger. Model is Royal SE. Automatic Transmission, 4-wheel-drive. Has power windows, power locks, and I believe all options that were available, including Air Conditioning. It"s also a super sharp and vibrant color combination. I didn"t hose it off and it"s actually quite dusty on the outside in the pictures. Even so, it still it gleams and dazzles quite nicely. If you look closely, you can see how dusty it is by looking at the chrome trim on the rear door (tailgate). You wouldn"t think bright white and red would be that great for hiding dirt but it actually is. One of the best things about this vehicle I"d say is probably the relatively low mileage, especially for the year. It only has 69,660 miles.
Previous to us, it owned by a farmer, who parked it unused for many years. It was parked long enough that his heirs couldn"t even agree why it was originally parked away.
Although the mileage is quite low, from sitting so long, there was some maintenance needed. Final invoice was $2,791. Items replaced include, but are not limited to: seals, gaskets, hoses, battery, fuel items, and other miscellaneous pieces.
While taking necessary steps to awaken the Ramcharger from it"s slumber, the mechanic found the cause of why we believe it was parked away. The fusible link was blown. He said it could have been from booting another vehicle (or tractor) incorrectly.
Besides the necessary maintenance from extended storage, we had addressed an appearance issue that I felt was of some urgency. The lower body areas had a lot of paint chipping from rural gravel roads. If unaddressed, and driven like this, all the chipped areas would certainly rust eventually. In fact, there was already a small section of actual rust-though behind the passenger wheel opening. We had a body shop isolate and properly repair this spot and refinish the whole lower section. I don"t personally like the look of running boards or big mud-flaps, so. . to prevent lower body paint chipping happening again, I opted to have the lower white areas done in a lightly textured gravel guard. It looks very nice and the white was a perfect match to the upper surfaces.
So why is it for sale ? ? Not too long ago, we bought a "79 Ford Bronco that I"m really actually quite enthusiastic about. I"d wanted to buy it for years and finally got a "yes" to our inquiries. My automotive attention-defecit-disorder has shifted my focus. I"m not going to pursue any further plans that we had for the Ramcharger. On it"s now-cancelled "to do" list was a small suspension lift, tires/wheels, nice sounding headers and dual exhaust, etc. etc (all things that the Bronco is at the mechanics getting done right now). Full disclosure. . I haven"t even driven the Ramcharger more than short distances from our property. It was a project to get exactly how I wanted, to my preferences, and wasn"t done. It sure runs nice and seems to drive really well but, I"m certainly not familiar enough with it overall to stand up for it. Nutshell - it"s basically a custom project interrupted by offset interests. As such, I"ve got no reason to hang onto it and am just selling it. We"ve chosen to list it unreserved.
UNRESERVED, you ask? Yes! (LOL) $250 starting bid. Highest offer takes.
Here"s some points I"d like to mention that you should know about: Tail light plastic lenses are a bit hazy (maybe I"m just picky?). One of the front moldings has the rubber coming loose from the aluminum (front passenger right marker lamp). Headliner is getting droopy in spots. Wheel centre caps are in the back cargo area (As mentioned, I was going to get new wheels). Worth mentioning twice (or even more!) is, it sure seems to run and drive very darn nicely. That said, please consider that I"m just a private hobbyist, and certainly not a mechanic type person. We spent a decent amount on repairs and am pretty sure they addressed all concerns. Like most mechanics, I don"t think this shop was any different and would"ve kept going; looking for more to charge if there was. For the most part, this Ramcharger looks super fabulous. The back bumper would be an exception though. It"s a sore point to me. When we recently decided to sell the Ramcharger, I had it professionally detailed. The over-paid and over-zealous cleaning shop took it upon themselves to paint the back bumper (complete with overspray). It looked better before. Personally, I never liked that truck bumper on this otherwise beautiful unit, and wanted to source a smaller sport bumper.
Anyhow, that"s all I can think of right now. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to write. If I can help, I certainly will. Remember though, my experience with the Ramcharger is honestly quite limited .
For the nuances listed above, I think it"s best to assume this purchase as a project vehicle. I don"t want anyone expecting a brand new condition 40-year-old SUV. This certainly isn"t. Mileage is relatively low but it"s obviously not zero. We all know there are unreasonable people out there that will expect the illogical. It"s because of them I"m calling this a project. We spent a considerable amount having it gone over by a mechanic but, I haven"t used it. Overall it"s a really nice vehicle and hard to come by in this condition. Check out our feedback. I"m proud of our reputation. We"ve sold quite a few from our collection of vintage and muscle cars over the last few years. You"ll see we have a decent reputation for describing less and delivering more. Hopefully this can be the same.
Don"t forget, it"s 250 bucks and UNRESERVED. Highest bid gets it ! ! Have an offer, try us out.
Details etc:
Ramcharger is located in Calgary Alberta Canada (approximately 3 hours north of Montana) does not have provision for those with multiple residences. Because of it"s age, domestic build, and antique status, it is free of any import/export restrictions. Title can be transferred anywhere.
Please see our feedback . We"ve narrowed down nearly all our previous collection and have built some very decent feedback. Common themes are: "very helpful", "trust Johnny & Sophia", and "vehicle better than described".
* * NOTE * * My wife (Sophia) has gotten pretty good at arranging shipping. She"ll set everything up for you. You won"t have to lift a finger.
Most US destinations are between 1,000 and 2,000. Furthest and priciest are Texas and Florida. Shipping there is usually between 2,250 and 2,300. I"d say to budget for at least this much to play on the safe side. . We always ask people to play on the safe side.
Ebay seller"s payment instructions Vehicle is sold as-is, how-is, where-is. No returns, no refunds, no exchanges. Must be paid for within 72 hours of auction end by US acct to US acct bank transfer. NO PAYPAL. Vehicle will remain where-is until payment is assured. No exceptions. Buyer responsible for all paperwork. We do not know the rules in each state and country so it is sold as per and in accordance with local laws. Seller will assist with shipping arrangements.
