I"m selling our beloved family X5 because I bought an old Land Cruiser. It"ll be fun off-road but WAY less fun on road.
- California-only car; first owner was in Antioch, then to SF, San Rafael, now back to SF (in other words, zero rust).
- Not used for commuting. Only weekend trips so engine-time-to-mileage ratio is as low as it gets).
- Meticulous maintenance records are chronologically catalogued in 3-ring binder; preventative and corrective action have been tracked since day one. I"m the 4th owner.
- Zero leaks (my garage floor is pristine- which is where it"s stored until weekends). Obsessive engine preventative maintenance has been done since I bought it two years ago. ("Borderline excessive" being my mechanic"s opinion). New alternator, all water hoses replaced. Exhaust manifolds replaced. You"re welcome to review the binder. I wanted it bulletproof for road trips with two small kids.

- Brand new audio upgrade: Sony XAV-210 with Apple CarPlay and Android
- Morel audiophile-grade speakers w/ Alpine amp (and thankfully no more factory nav garbage)
- Sliding cargo platform
- Electric tilting rear seats
- Factory tow package (rare on 4.8is, discontinued BMW part so impossible to buy new after-market)
- Original chip protectant film installed on all forward facing paint surfaces
- First owner also had $2k ceramic coating performed; exterior is still pristine with a couple near-imperceptible door dings. Always waxed in recent years.
- Factory roof rack included (Thule for BMW)
- Snow tires and rims: included or available swaps rate. 20" stock 4.8is rims are included. Pictured are 19" (from 4.4is) winter rims with Michelin Alpina 5 snow tires (like a cat on carpet, but for snow). Snow tires and rims are available installed, removed, or not included at all. Also available for sale separately. Used two seasons, 5k miles max.
- Inoperative: folding mirrors
- Favorites: Huge 20 gal fuel tank can cover over 350 miles; but still accelerates like a rocket if needed (though mostly driven like a grandma, no offense); no need for the slow lane to Tahoe; never used to tow (hitch used a few times for the bike rack) but could easily tow a boat or camper without impacting speed or performance (full
disclosure I did pull a little UHaul trailer to Truckee once, but I couldn"t tell it was back there, hence CHP lit us up to slow down).
- Title on hand. Carfax from when I bought it in 2017 available.
Honestly, I"m sad to let such an epic, classic-looking truck go but I got overruled and don"t have a barn for all my cars. If you need a 2004 Porsche or want to make a high-ball offer on a 2006 Land Cruiser (no nav), I have those too (to the chagrin of my family).

Purchase process:
(a) in-person cash/title exchange
(b) $500 deposit whereupon i"ll sent a picture of the title, we can exchange IDs, then we can wire transfer from there. I won"t sign title or release the keys until full wired funds are in my account.

- 9/19 Power steering hoses replaced; Valve cover gaskets and timing cover gaskets replaced; Spark plugs replaced; both drive belts replaced ($2600)
- 12/16 air struts replaced ($1900), brakes pads, alignment, lower ball joints, thrust arm bushings ($1700)
- 2005 Clear Armor ceramic coating ($800)
