Vehicle description

1936 Auburn Speedster Replica, prewar style suicide doors, this is the rare Lindberg Kit - Model A 36 , Manufactured by Lindberg Engineering Inc. in Tollhouse - California, only a handful are known to exist, slightly smaller than the original molds, just under 15 feet long bumper to bumper, would fit in any regular car garage, probably the length of a Toyota Corolla . The engine is in the rear, so, for that reason there is plenty of leg room in the cockpit. . Built in 1976 , the donor car was an 1972 Superbeetle , chassis, rear end, front end, 1600 single port VW Superbeetle engine & manual transmission - both in excellent working condition, oil cooler installed since new, very smooth and fast ride ! Here is a list of new parts installed in the last couple of years: entire brake system, new fuel tank, new tires, new carburetor, new battery, professionally designed/installed muffler system with all fully wrapped sound and heat shield, (very quiet), undercarriage insulation-including flair wings from rear trunk lid, new front & rear bumpers, new full moon hub caps with pinstriped Auburn name logo, new Steering Wheel with Auburn logo button, new ooga horn, like new carpet installed about 2 years ago and a lot of other new things under in the engine compartment. Paint is still nice but not new, beautiful pin striping matching the interior real leather seats and door panels, 2 piece glass windshield and 2 piece hood as the real deal, Auburn headlights & Auburn tail lights, chrome side mirrors and supercharged pipes, convertible top has a metal frame/glass window, is functional, made out of canvas but in old condition. Super rare and a nice conversation piece, draws attention everywhere is driven, drives very good and is pretty fast, no mechanical issues at all ! !
