Vehicle description
A modified 1971 Plymouth Barracuda with a 2017 Mopar 6.4 Crate motor rated at 485 HP but with added performance it is an easy 500. Fully computerized and fuel injected. TTI headers and a 3 inch exhaust with ELECTRIC CUT OUT DUMPS. It is backed up with Tremic 6 speed w/Hurst shifter. The power is then put through a Moser "Ford 9" with 376 gears. Stopping power is with huge 6 piston calipers up front and 4 piston in the rear. Power brakes is through a Hydro Boost system that also delivers to the power rack. Suspension is all modernized with the famous RMS system front and rear with coil over shocks and 4 link in the rear. The interior is custom with a newer style console and hugging seats. A 7 speaker sound system. Also there is an air conditioner unit. Power windows and top. Don"t forget the 18 inch wheels.
The color is a Mopar factory color, not from 1971, but from the 2013 Dodge Viper. It"s called Sryker Red, and the above photos may not give it justice. It is a multi stage paint, candy, if you will, that can be blood red in photo flashes, burgundy in the shade, and bright Candy Apple in the sunlight. Under the hood I took great pains to hide the wiring that travels in side the drivers side fender and all but a couple hoses travel under the passenger side. The fire wall is smooth, and there is a custom cover over the normally open area between the radiator and the header panel.
Added were frame connectors and a more modern cloth top as opposed to the vinyl that it would of originally came with. There are the electrostatic painted bumpers, front and back. Custom headlights too! Many of the sheet metal panels were replaced either with NOS or through AMD, including the unavailable "vert quarters and Dutchman panel which are new. Frame rails throughout were inspected and two under the trunk were replaced. All others are good. There is no rust anywhere on this car because all was replaced or repaired.
It now handles and drives more like a sports car, but with the old school muscle and looks, just with modern conveniences. For those of you that built Mopar muscle like I have can tell you of some of the drawbacks of big motors. This car, besides it"s great looks, is a hoot to drive and no more overheating or oil leaks, and it gets 20MPG!
