Vehicle description

1985 Ford Mustang GT , Oxford White with black stripe, Original 14K+ miles, dealer installed sunroof (August 1985), 2nd titled owner. Original owner purchased the car for his wife in August 1985. They sold it in 2017. The car was always garaged and sat, undriven from 2010 - 2017. I purchased it from the buyer and titled and registered it with 7.5K original miles in September 2018. The car had the original Goodyear Gatorback tires on it when I bought it. I replaced them with Cooper tires of the same size. I still have the original tires if you want them with the car. The Deluxe Marti report is shown in the pictures. I ordered the Elite Marti report with display and it has not arrived yet. It will go with the car. I have many more pictures of the car including the underside; just request them. I have the original owner"s warranty card, owner"s manual, and a 1985 Ford Mustang Catalog to go with the vehicle. I also have a copy of the CarFax report.
Original owner had a minor fender bender on the front, driver"s side quarter panel in May, 2010. All damage was repaired and there was no structural damage. Per the story I was told, the accident was a cause of concern for the owner"s wife and she stopped driving the car after that. The car was not registered again until September 2018.
I pulled the original radio and amp and replaced them with a Kenwood. The radio was non-functioning and not repairable. The amp is being restored and I sourced another of the same radio to see if I can get it restored. The radio(s) and amps go with the car when I get them back from restoration (repaired or not).
What is not functioning or not quite right? - Rear window defroster switch not functioning; does not light up - Speedometer reading is off; shows 65 on speedometer and GPS shows 74 - Driver’s side door roller (door stop) missing. - Possible (very) minor oil leak. Not leaking right now. May be from the rear main seal.
What parts do I have? -NOS Ford mechanical fuel pump -Original mechanical fuel pump protective cover -Original factory numbered spark plug wires -Original Goodyear Gatorback tires (only driven 7.5K miles) -Original factory AM/FM Stereo with Cassette and amp (as described above) -Original hatch striker plate with large washer (no cover) -Driver’s side power window motor -Original passenger’s side power window motor -ICU pigtail
What have I done to the car? -Removed original Goodyear Gatorback tires; replaced with new Cooper tires; same size -Replaced mechanical fuel pump – leaking from weep hole -Replaced passenger side power window motor -Flushed and bled the brake lines – new brake fluid -Flushed and replaced the power steering fluid -Replaced ball joints -Replaced tie rod ends with grease zerk versions -Replaced sway bar links -Replaced front struts -Replaced rear shocks -Car aligned -Pulled original, non-functional factory stereo and amp; and replaced with Kenwood. Speakers and wiring remained the factory original. -Replaced spark plugs -Replaced spark plug wires -Replaced both door jam dome light switches -Repaired leaking 4bbl carburetor; new gaskets -Replaced fuel filter in carburetor -Replaced mufflers; cat-back remained the same; same tips -Converted a/c to R-134; repaired leak; a/c blows cold -Replaced leaking heater core -Drained and replaced rear differential fluid -Replaced hatch striker plate; was missing the plastic striker covering -Amp restoration in work -Taped up the rotted wire coating on the ICU pigtail (4 wires on plug going to ICU) -Replaced battery cable back to original
I am not in a hurry to sell the car. I believe the right buyer will be getting themselves an awesome Fox Body.
