Up for bids is my 1968 Zink Z5 Formula Vee. The car is race ready, seat belts were re-webbed by RaceQuip in April 2017, engine has 4 race weekends on it since complete, professional, rebuild, tires have 4 race weekends on them. Other than the normal pre-race prep this car can be on the track tomorrow. It has been raced with VRG over the past 4 years and has not had a DNF and always passed tech. It has been a consistent top 3 runner in every Jefferson 500 in the last 3 years. The car is set up for a 6" 2"" 220lbs driver but will easily accommodate smaller drives (the pedal box is adjustable on these cars). The original saddle tanks have been replaced with a modern ATL fuel cell behind the driver seat. The car comes with all my "spares" (rebuildable engine, spare trans, front swaybar and boxes full of stuff). Car is currently set up for vintage racing but I have most of the parts to convert it to Zero Roll rear suspension should you want to run it in a modern Vee series.
I haul it around in a single axle enclosed trailer that, for the right price, can be purchased as well (It is NOT part of the auction but if you want it, contact me and we will work something out. This would give you a "turn key" racing operation, that you can take to the track this coming weekend). I have all log books back to 1972 (first year SCCA issued log books).
I can arrange delivery within 100 mile radius of Hagerstown MD for $0.20 per mile (using MapQuest to determine distance)
Now for the disclaimers: This car comes with absolutely no warranties whatsoever, it is not street legal and has no title.
Racing is an inherently dangerous sport and if you chose to drive this car you assume all risks and are responsible for any damage or injury you cause or sustain.
As with all auctions, PLEASE, ask any questions BEFORE you bid. Winner must pay a $500,00 deposit via PayPal as well as contact seller to arrange pick up/delivery within 3 business days of the end of the auction or I will file a non payment complaint and relist the car.
