Vehicle description
Very Nice and well built 601XLB, with the center section and wing modifications done during the build process. Clarence Rice of Bartlettsville, Oklahom built this aircraft. Before his retirement, He worked in Design Engineering at Conoco Phillips. He was also a very accomplished Pilot with multi engine and instrument ratings who Flew his Persomal Beechcraft Barrons for Years. He brought this XLB through the complete FAA Certification Process. and registered it in 2012. His vision was failing and He voluntarily gave up Flying. I am Ted Richardson and I bought this nice XLB in April 2012, and flew her home to Western, N.C. The only reason I am offering her for sale is because I recently bought a 2012 Arion Lightning. I obviously do not need two aircraft. This 601 XLB is classified as LIGHT SPORT. In the past year, I spent $2200 for a Sensenich ground adjustable propeller and polished aluminum spinner, in order to Peak Performance. This aircraft is equipped with duel control sticks as well as duel toe brakes Both sides have push to talk function built into the control sticks. The left control stick has elevator as well as aileron trim control function built in to the stick. The electric trim works well as does the electric flap control. This aircraft is powered by a 6 cylinder, Jabiru 3300 aircraft engine, developing 120 hp. There have been over 6500 Jabiru engines placed in aircraft world wide, and over half of those in aircraft in the USA. This engine is approved for 100 LL Aviation fuel or for alcohol free high octane auto gas. This XLB is equipped with the Grand Rapids Sport Model SX duel screen EFIS (glass panel). It has the engine monitor, primary flight display, and the moving map navigation system. On the right side of the panel is the GRT Engine Information System. It also has the Zaon Collision avoidance as well as an autopilot. It is also equipped with a Garmin Mode C Transponder, a Garmin SL 40 radio transceiver with 760 channels, and a 2 place intercom. This aircraft currently has 197 hours TT, airframe and engine since new. There has never been any damage history. The past two annuals have been done at the maintenance facility at Jabiru North America in Shelbyville Tenn. with no expense spared. In two and a half years, I have flown this XLB 117 hours of trouble free flying. It is a great for local flying, and a nice plane for cross country with its 24 gallon fuel capacity. This aircraft uses approximately 5 GPH, and has a consistent speed of 120 MPH or more if you go to altitude. This Aircraft is for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Feel free to call me at 828-230-0376 for further questions. Good luck. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
