Vehicle description
1947 CJ2A Painted in the colors of 3 rd Army, 4 th Battalion, 37 th Armored, General George S. Patton’s army that liberated the Nazi besieged city of Bastonge deep in the Ardennes forest during the last major German offensive of WWII - the Battle of the Bulge. This is from the time of the greatest generation when men stood up against tyranny and put their lives on the line to smash oppression. This vehicle clearly embodies the rugged fortitude that that brought freedom to millions. Updated 12 volt electrical system. New high-torque starter (really impressive). All new flexible brake lines. New brake master and slave cylinders, brakes work as well as original. New tires - NDCC. New paint. New aftermarket blinker system. New transmission and differential seals (still leaks a little here and there – it’s 70 years old!). New clutch & pressure plate & pilot bushing. New parking brake components. New wheel seals. New fluids and grease. New exhaust system, pipes and muffler. Body has rusty spots, some holes in floor boards, and dents as can be seen. Engine runs excellent but smokes. It starts right up and runs well but smokes. The cylinder compression is about 120 psi on all cylinders. I suspect the oil rings are sticky from sitting and I don"t run it much, just here and there. They may free up after more run time, I don"t know. Transmission shifts fine. Locking front hubs (not original, but saves a lot of wear). The tail gate has significantly been reinforced to hold the spare tire and jerry can. (the jerry can is for display only.) Current Vermont registration (transfers same as title, it"s a Vermont thing). If you drive this, you will be saluted, waved at, cheered, and questioned at stop lights, intersections, and gas stations. Old men will tell you war stories and even the ladies like these. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, however I can coordinate on my end and have access to a loading dock. Since I understand that shipping arrangements can take some time, I can keep this stored indoors for free for up to two weeks, after that a storage fee will apply, but it isn"t much. Although I can store this for some time, full payment is still due within 14 days. Length about 123", Width about 57", Weight about 2,100 lbs. Feel free to email me with any questions. Thanks! High bidder wins!
