Vehicle description

Up for your consideration is this beautiful field-restored 1952 M-38 Jeep Navy variant made by Willis-Overland (SN:MC-62789). This was not an "off-frame" restoration, but is close and is condition 1. The vehicle starts and drives well. The restoration includes all new or replaced: wiring and windshield, all canvas and canvas storage cover by Beachwood Canvas, complete exhaust system, shocks, drive lines and seals, wheel bearings, lock-out rebuilt hubs, steering and knuckle joints, tires and tubes, breaks and emergency brake, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, brake plates, Ramsey 8000 winch (not correct but accurate - fits original winch cradle), 5/16" winch cable at 100 feet, rebuilt PTO, AN/VRC 9 radio (never de-milled, complete w/ antenna, mounts, cables, hand set, 2 head sets, rear speaker and adaptors), M-2HB replica w/ M-31C gun mount (will not fire), a 1911 A-1 Thompson replica (will not fire) w/ 10 round stick magazine, AN siren (24 volt), 4 AN flashlights w/ holders, brass fire extinguisher w/ holder, new chrome 5 lb ABC extinguisher, first aid kit and holder, WWII rifle holder, WW-II water container (2.5 gal), and spare parts in tool area packed w/ lots of great stuff too numerous to list. Also has new 12 volt batteries. Totally rebuilt engine and transmission includes: exhaust and intake manifolds (specially treated to resist rust), radiator, fuel-vacuum pump, spark plugs and wires, coil, points, condenser and rotor, rebuilt starter included (but not installed), carburetor, hoses, clamps, all cables and fording valves. All fluids replaced. All new grease fittings. Document pouches behind both seats w/ manuals for M-38 and radio. Also bridge plate, Navy and military valve cap covers and adjustable convoy light. In 2017 spring edition of Military Vehicles (issue 188), they list price of an M-38 condition 1 with top and NO EXTRAS at $18,500. This vehicle has LOADS of extras including hard to find Ramsey military winch (complete) and brand new 1953 military radio (complete). These items alone will raise the Jeep price by $10-15K. Anyone would be pleased to own this historic and somewhat rare military vehicle. Clear Washington title and bill-of-sale provided upon sale. This is an as-is auction. No warrantee implied or expressed.
