Vehicle description

1944 Willys MB MZ-2 Radio Jeep used by the Navy and Marine Corps. Serial # 391502 Tub # 1500260. Produced December of 1944. Jeep will need a full restoration. Jeep still has a lot of the original Marine Corps Forest green on it. It has the undercoating which preserved allot of the paint on the frame and under the hood. Has the proper MZ-2 tub characteristics. Hole in the bottom of glove box. PTO opening in floor by seat. Has been covered by sheet metal. Frame is in good condition only rust through is a 4 inch section where the rear axle rubber bumper bolted to the frame and will need repair. Rear cross member is straight and has original bummperettes in good condition. Front frame horns are in good shape. Has all 4 bumper gussets. 3 of the 4 are in great shape. One will need repaired or replaced. Has original Ram Horn tow hooks. Not sure if the bumper is original or not. Engine is a post war replacement. The condition is unknown. My guess it will need to be rebuilt. Has a GPW head. Has a T90 transmission. Rear axle has been replaced with a CJ Axle. I will included a WWII full floating rear axle. Hood, Fenders, and Windshield frame are in good shape. Passenger fender will need some rust repair by support channel. Tub has rust. The front cowl isn’t in good shape. Front and rear floors will need to be replaced. Both wheel well tops have been cut and sheet metal welded on top. The rear section of the jeep has wrapped in sheet metal. Its welded but can removed without allot of work. It maybe easier to find a donor tub or reproduction tub and add on the MZ brackets and glove box floor to the new on. Has 2 combat rims. Seats are from an M38. I was told by the previous owner this jeep was surplused from Marine Air Base Eagle Mountain Lake. In 1944 it was home of MAG-53 the Marine Corps 1st night fighter squadron. No Title, I can assist in getting a fully transferrable bonded title if needed for all fees and taxes. Average cost is $500 and takes about a month.
