Vehicle description

Incredibly rare unique early single wheel trailer. Look up the Linn Trailer Corp. on coachbuilt.com theres a nice write up about the company. This was built in 1930 and with the depression hitting it did not last. The article claims none are known to exist and only shows a copyright drawing with no existing pictures. (Heard from another guy that about 6 exist that he knows of) Heres your chance to be the cool guy pulling into the vintage meet with the only one around. Great for early motor camping collector or just early motoring collector. One of the attached pics shows a similar trailer back in the day.
Mounts rigid to rear frame or bumper by installing the two balls (pictured and included) to the vehicle, and then you drop the front of the trailer over those, pulling back the pins on the female cups on the trailer and then pushing them in to lock in place. (The pins are stuck by the way and will need to be unlocked.) You will have to come up with your own brackets for mounting the balls to your vehicle. The wheel is supposed to trail so it turns as a caster wheel when you turn. This brand trailer was touted as one you could also back up, as the trailing arm dynamics change when backing up the way it all pivots so that the wheel then trails in reverse. (does not spin 360 but the arm going down to the wheel pivots at top to allow trailing the other direction.) Pretty neat setup. Arm moves to trail in reverse but the wheel does not turn with arm pressure, may be sort of stuck. Has a nut and spring / friction setup for different weight loads and how easy the wheel should turn. You will have to mess with that and free it all up. Not sure how complete all parts are in hub. Rolls fine. Has a ford hub cap on the wooden spoke wheel. Wheel spokes are a little loose from age. Rim is 21". Old "Hood" tire is shot. I added the tail light to the rear fender, it"s not original but I felt looked cool. Rust and pitting throughout but nothing thin or rusted through. Pretty solid. Most of the hardware nuts and bolts look rusty too. Minor dings and dents. You can just make out the old "Linn" decals on the side and has an early Arizona license trailer serial plate attached. All tie down hooks are present and unbroken. Legs for standing up when not hooked to vehicle will need some work. Some parts are bent and one bar of the folding assembly is broken see pic.
Dimensions of outside of box are 46.5 inches wide and 54.5 inches long. Top of box is about 33 inches above ground. Overall length is just over 9 feet.
