Vehicle description
[Previous buyer was unable to complete the purchase due to a sudden emergency.] 1972 Midas 14.5’ Smokey pull camper. Fully equipped with shower/toilet combo, fridge, heater, 3 burner stove with oven, and 2 propane tank rack. Sleeps 4. Folding step under door. Aluminum screen door. Front cushions are good, rear bed cushion cover stitching for zipper has come loose. Aluminum siding is in good condition. After repairing front & rear edges and some minor dents, the skin can be repainted if desired. Tires are in very good condition. A roof leak caused the damage to the left rear area- ceiling & wall corner. The roof leak was sealed but the interior repair of the ceiling and wall are incomplete. The front exterior damage was caused by a turn with the truck’s tailgate down. The appliances and bath have not been used for a couple of years and they will need to be cleaned/refurbished. Front fiberglass awning needs a new support arm. 2 hitch jacks have been added to the rear bumper as leveling jacks. Rear storage door needs repair. All glass in windows is intact, except the left rear top window has a “bb” size hole and crack. The roof vent cover is cracked and needs to be replaced. The roof needs to be resealed or replaced. The coating is dry, brittle and cracked. It has several places with patches but the overall condition of the roof material is poor. The floor seems to be solid. No signs underneath of decay. The trailer has a clear title, working lights and can be towed. This Smokey travel trailer was made by Midas (yes, the muffler company) to compete with the Shasta type campers in the 70s. It’s small enough to restore for a nice retro camper, but it also has the amenities of a full RV.
