One of a kind 1964 Airstream GlobeTrotter 19 in excellent condition and rare floor plan.
All the work is done on the mostly original rare trailer. It was purchased here in DRY southern California. No rust on frame, pan or otherwise. Outer skin is almost perfect for its age a couple small dings but nothing really outstanding. So starting with a very solid trailer this is what has done to update and improve the unit. There is plenty of storage in this compact trailer and has a great layout. This airstream is truly a unique trailer that is ready to use. Lots of money and time went into refurbishing. And it does not LEAK! Tows easily with mid size SUV. I towed it with Toyota Highlander V-6 and it was great. Anyone that knows these trailers can see this is a rare find. Please come see it for yourself or please feel free to ask any questions of me. There is way more cash in this trailer than asking price. As the saying goes with classic cars, trailers etc. . Modernization:
Brand new complete axle hub to hub - including electric brakes - this was expensive, well all things were expensive Added roof top air conditioning New fridge 3-way - with wood panel insert to match interior cabinets Solar panels New custom gray tank made of aluminum - original old trailers did not have gray water tanks therefore you would never be able to take to any national or state parks, gray water must be collected. In the old days you let it go on the ground. Black tank cleaned and checked for any leaks - solid New interior fabrics and extra heavy duty foam padding for beds/sofas Updated LED low voltage lighting Spare tire added with additional receiving hitch for bike rack or extra storage Custom fabricated aluminum front window cover/protector - original was plastic Solid hardwood flooring throughout New water pump 2 brand new modern propane tanks installed
Original items refurbished:
Original cabinets refinished All countertops and table are the original laminate - in excellent condition Original stove cleaned, and made operable Shower and sinks are all original and in perfect condition Some window cranks replaced Exterior polish is about 4 years old - still looks great Still have the original shower curtain Original heater working properly just cleaned, though see below for safety reasons New water tank 40-50 gal, as I recall.
Items that should have some attention:
As any camping vehicle, before use all systems should be checked by a professional.
Water heater should be replaced, there is a leak somewhere. Was going to put in tankless which is the way to go All gas lines should be re-checked, normal maintenance for safety. Would replace tires, normal for age. And thats about it that I am aware of. These repairs are considered in the price of the trailer, so please enjoy looking and make an offer. I want this airstream to have a good home and be cared for as it should be. It is a true piece of American history.
