Vehicle description

Yes, that"s right! FIBERGLASS!
The fiberglass models were produced in limited numbers for only two years alongside their more common aluminum-over-wood framed versions that started in the 1950s. The fiberglass Alaskans are much more durable and aerodynamic than the original flat-faced/flat-sided aluminum version. They are also lighter with bigger windows and three cool skylights (not so dark and cavelike), AND they have three roof vents for greater ventilation. AND, most importantly, they are weather proof and don"t leak over time.
Like other Alaskans, this 10" truck camper raises and lowers with a hydtaulic pump. I t is in original condition with sink, stove, refrigerator, clothing drawer, closet, and vanity. There is not a composting toilet included, but it would be easy to install one. It also does not have a table, but again - easy to add one. It h as a really cool 70"s-era fake wood decal interior ceiling with high-gloss finish. Please see the pictures for the condition - while you could use this camper as is, it will be a project to get it in like-new shape - the glass on the door is shattered, one front window is cracked, the camper needs to be rewired, there are small breaks in the plastic inside and some cracking to the exterior fiberglass, it is missing tail light covers, gaskets and seals should be replaced, there are no light fixtures, there are spots of rust on the stove, it does not have a key, and it needs a good cleaning. The hydraulic pump does raise and lower and a pair of old-school hand-crank jacks are included in the sale (these are also almost impossible to find).
There are only a handful of these fiberglass models in the US, and none others for sale at this time that I could find. They are VERY rare and in high demand. This camper will make an awesome expedition rig or a great space while hunting/camping. You can even sleep in it while in lowered position for stealth camping in the city! Also, it does not require DMV registration, since it is a camper. Lower this baby on your truck and let the adventure begin!
Since the early 1950’s Alaskan Camper has been building the only hard-sided, telescopic truck camper. The original idea was to give campers the comforts of home, protection from the elements and a low-profile for a safer, more comfortable driving experience along with better gas mileage. The early Alaskan Campers were raised with a manual hydraulic hand pump. In the late 1980’s a pushbutton electric pump replaced the manual version. Alaskan Truck Camper has set the bar for quality in the industry for the last 60+ years. We never sacrifice quality to save money or compromise on the quality of materials or workmanship. Truck camping is a great way to travel and with the Alaskan Truck Camper you can get off the highway and access remote spots.
