2001 Thomas, International, special needs bus with a DT 466E motor and a Allison, 2000 series 5 speed automatic. Bus is registered as a RV in California. I bought this bus almost two years ago to convert to a RV but due to work, I just don"t have time to build it out. I have used it for a few camping trips here and there, and have put about 2,500 miles on it since I bought it. I did the opposite of most people and instead of building it out first then dealing with the mechanical, I went through everything on the motor first. The bus was from AZ so it has the 4" of insulation on the ceiling, 2 AC units (they worked when I bought it but must be a fuse blown now, won"t turn on). The bed is a Queen size and the frame is not bolted down so it can be moved sideways depending on what you load in the bus. I have kept everything else open so I can set it up for whatever trip I am going on and number of people I am taking. Here is what I have done mechanically to it so far.
Inframe motor rebuild done in Sept, 2015 at West Coast Diesel in Fresno
4, new back tires in July of 2016 (approx 700 miles on them now)
Rear diff serviced (June 2015)
Coolant Flush and coolant filter changed
Transmission fluid flushed and new filters
Fuel filter changed (2016)
New air filter (2016)
New belts
Oil Change with filter (June 2016)
New HEUI pump, primer bulb (Sept 2016)
2 new start batteries (2016)
Bus starts, runs, and drives great! I have over $21K into it. Bus has 128,467K miles on it as of March, 2017
