Vehicle description
1941 Taylorcraft BL-12-65 Deluxe NC33972 TTAF 2065 that was converted to a BC-12-65 by the installation of a Continental A-65 in 1961. A newly overhauled A-65 was installed in 1984 that now has 1231 SMOH. The aircraft also has a field approved extended baggage dated 1979 and a skylight STC dated 2001. New Slick mags with ignition harness along with an exhaust system and windshield were installed just prior to my ownership. The aircraft has a 12 gal nose tank and two 6 gal wing tanks. All of the tubing for the tail feathers and fuselage have been painted with polyurethane and all of the wood stringers have been replaced with new. New trim cable. The fuselage and tail feathers have been covered in Ceconite 102 fabric using the Stewart process. The wings should have new spars and the strut AD needs to be complied with. The wing strut attachment mod that allows for an 85 hp engine to be installed has been done. The fabric for the wings and ailerons is included along with new wood for the aileron spars. Many new parts have been purchased for this project along with a bunch of spare pieces to include extra horizontal tail and new tires and tubes. New fiberglass wheel pants and attaching hardware. New seat sling. I even found an original parking brake cable along with a Talyorcraft tail wheel. The control yokes, rudder pedals, and brake pedals have been powder coated.
