Vehicle description

Hi, and thank you for viewing our listing. This is a very nice Taylor-Dunn ET-5 (ET-150) 72V Electruck. Based on the serial number - 159337 - it was built in 2004. We recently purchased this to use on our farm. Our intent was to remove the cargo box on the back and replace it with a flat/utility bed. However, this Electruck is in too nice of a condition for farm use. We have plenty of other toys that can haul loads for us, so there is no need to cut up this fine specimen of a very rare vehicle. Interestingly enough, the person we bought this from had the same intention. He bought it from a local university that used it for parcel deliveries on campus. He too was going to remove the cargo box and turn it into a flatbed farm vehicle. He stored it in his garage for about two years before deciding to sell it.
It appears as if it has been stored indoors most all of the time. The outside paint was recently freshened up - not sure if it was the previous owner or the university - but it looks real good.
As far as describing the truck let me just say it is in overall very good condition. It is easier to describe what is wrong with it (at least as far as we know).
1. The batteries and battery cables will need to be replaced. We have not even attempted to charge them. The person we bought it from said they would hold a small charge when he first purchased it, but two years of sitting have likely done them in. The batteries could have a little life in them, but I would not rust the cables with that much voltage/amperage. It takes 12 six-volt golf cart style batteries. You can plan on paying $100 apiece for good batteries. You could probably have all new cables made for less than $200. 2. The outside mirror on the driver"s door is broken off. The mount is still there and in good condition. It is likely a standard automotive mirror. 3. The floor of the cargo box has been removed. Most others we have seen have a plywood floor. This should be an easy and inexpensive fix. 4. The front bumper and driver"s side headlight are off in the pictures. Both are with the truck and are in perfect condition. They appear to have been removed to repaint the vehicle. 5. The passenger"s side front wheel is a mismatch to the other three. It actually appears to be one of the original wheels. All tires are newer and in good condition. We would recommend buying a fourth wheel/tire and using the original wheel/newer tire as a spare. 6. The windshield wiper is missing.
Trucks in similar condition - albeit with good batteries - are selling in the $10K - $15K price range.
This is a very nice electric vehicle. It has headlights, turn signals, brake lights, a horn, windshield wiper, hard doors, and too much more to list. The truck has a built in charger and will charge from 110V or 220V - it is currently set up for 220V.
There are not many of these with a cargo of like this one. It has barn door style doors on the back and drivers"s side. All doors open/close very well.
This truck is very heavy. We were able to pull it home with our 18" utility trailer and GMC 2500 HD, but both the trailer and truck felt the load. We would help with loading for shipping (you arrange the shipping) and we might be able to deliver within a reasonable distance for $2 per loaded mile.
According to the manufacturer"s website this Electruck model has a 25 MPH top speed, a 40 mile range per charge, and can carry 1,500 pounds.
The tires pictured in the back of the truck DO NOT come with the truck. My son just stored them in there to keep them secure. There are for sell for $1K. They are Fuel 20" (not sure of the other dimensions, but they are huge - he has a 9" lift on his truck).
Please feel free to ask questions.
