Vehicle description

Up for sale is virtually new 2007 XM1087A1 ( w/ multi-fuel artic heater and Nordic A/C) mounted to long wheelbase FMTV (M1085) with retractable twistlocks, so shelter is easily removed from truck if needed. This is the only AAR XM1087 EVAN (Expansible Van) in civilian hands and was taken off a truck that was wrecked (minor front bumper damage) when it only had 22 miles on it. The M1085 truck is one of three sold to the public as of this listing but shares parts commonality with the popular LMTV/FMTV family of Stewart and Stevenson vehicles. The vehicle is street legal and able to be registered/insured as an RV. Virtually brand new, in great working order. I was planning to build out the interior and make this the ultimate expedition vehicle but life has different plans so I must sell my dream. This package will include (4) four extra Hawker batteries ($500 ea), Hydronic 10 diesel engine block heater ($2000), marine grade Isotherm 24v stainless steel refrigerator/freezer w/ ice maker ($3000), full shower install kit, stainless steel propane oven/range ($500), Dometic Cassette Toilet ($750) , 2000W MEP-531a 24v Diesel Generator (has 2 hours on meter, $1750), (3) 300w 24v solar panels (900W total, $1000), multi-fuel hot water heater ($10k, brand new) and much much more. Everything you need to build a world class expedition vehicle. Expedition vehicles like this routinely sell for several hundred thousand dollars (see Unicat, Earthroamer, Global Expedition Vehicles). Allison transmission powered by Caterpillar diesel with air brakes and leaf spring suspension. Very simple, robust design that is able to be serviced anywhere in the world. the entire shelter is 3" thick foam insulation covered in 1/8" aluminum sheeting with steel skeleton. incredibly durable. Stewart and Stevenson parts are readily available on open market and as well as factory direct. The government paid over $750k for the shelter alone and $118k for the truck brand new just a few years ago. The FMTV only has 7,000 miles on the odometer and drives great. No major mechanical issues. I purchased the vehicle with 5000 miles on it and most of the miles put on the truck stem from the drive to Houston from Ft. Bragg, NC. The vehicle is currently located in Houston, Tx. I"m open to reasonable trade offers including CNC machines, Land Rover Defenders, BMW GS.
