Vehicle description

24 foot shuttle bus. 2002. Ford E-450 Super Duty V8. 7.3L Diesel. 19,320 miles.
It"s a story as old as time itself. Boy has a dream of converting a bus, boy finds out there is no place in his life for something so enormous, boy must give up bus. The conversion is about 80% complete, but knowing I"m not going to be able to keep it, I"m finding a lack of motivation to finish. So, I"m going to try listing it for a few weeks for the exact amount of money I"ve put into this project. That"s why the price is such a strange figure. If there is someone out there who likes the direction I was headed, and wants to take this project on, I"m willing to walk away without taking a dime for my time and energy. If not. . . I"ll finish it myself and reassess my strategy.
Background: This bus was purchased in 2002 by the Federal Government to operate as a prisoner bus for the I.N.S. (immigration). In 2003 the U.S. shut down the I.N.S., and this bus was placed into deep storage until a couple of years ago. I"ve had this bus inspected twice in the time I"ve owned it. Once as a pre purchase inspection, and once this week to make sure it"s ready for sale, and both mechanics were blown away at how new it all is. The engine, the brakes, and tires. . it all looks new. The upholstery is perfect.
Included features:
rear wall is reclaimed barn wood
front wall is reclaimed Asian hardwoods from shipping containers.
floating vinyl plank flooring
brand new full queen size mattress (linens not included)
sofa/ loveseat w/ cabinet base
Kitchen has brand new sink and stove (propane), ikea counter top, cabinet from an antique store
New backup camera
Norcold 3-way fridge (12v, 110v, propane) (used)
New air vent with remote and automatic rain sensor
All windows have 1-way privacy decals.
Plumbing:
39 gallon freshwater tank
42 gallon grey water tank
Shurflo 12v pump
New Ecotemp L5 tankless water heater
Plumbing is fully installed except for the grey water tank, which still needs to be hung but is included.
A second shurflo pump is also included.
Here are things left to do in the conversion in my opinion:
1) electrical. Purchase includes 8x12v recessed lights and 4x12v reading lights. Wiring has been run to switches.
2) overhead cabinets
3) exterior painting.
4) hang grey water tank (tank included)
5) cover overhead wire channels
6) furnace
7) propane system
8) properly insulate under bed platform and unfinished rear room.
You"ll notice that I haven"t included any toilet. For my purposes, sewage was unnecessary. I was shooting for more of an adventure van concept. That said, the unfinished space on the back would fit a toilet very well if you were so inclined.
So that"s her. There is still a fair amount of work to accomplish, but you would be getting a huge head start in the free labor I"m throwing in. I have no doubt she will run reliably for many years to come.
