Vehicle description
1973 Dodge Superior has 48,856 miles on it. Was stored in an Aluminum building on Bedford In for nearly 30yr. All the soft rubber and seats material is amazing condition. Original Carpet etc. In great shape very original What I have done to it over the past 4yrs. 1. Rebuilt the top end of motor mainly to upgrade for unleaded gas harder valve stems. New Cam, Had the Heads done at a shop. 2. Brand new holly Carb 3. All new brakes went thru it all. All new brake lines from front to the back. 4. Installed Headers and new exhaust. 5. Painted the chase with 90 wgt wheel bearing grease to seal up and preserve. 6. Replaced the front Axle with a 76 model that had the stabilizer bar this prevented the body roll she used to have. Takes turns much more stable. 7. I did remove the generator as we never used it we always plugged in and the gen set was very heavy. 8. Removed tank and had it flushed and inside of tank coated to prevent any rust etc from getting to my new Carb. 9. Intalled all new tires 5yrs ago these are 10 ply Semi truck grade tires very think heavy tire will last for ever. 10. All new fluids and filters including the transmission. 11. Replaced some of the copper lines with Apex plastic to bathroom as they 12. Installed a nice Honda Odyssey driver seat to upgrade for my comfort. 13. Mom made all new curtains for it 3 years ago. 14. AC works, Heater works , Hot water works. Oven works, faucets work. 15. Installed a brand new modern Fridge in place of the old. $400. Me and Dad have put about $3500 in new parts and tires into and maybe 300 hrs of my labor over the past 8 to 9yrs in it. Had a lot of fun. Engine is a Dodge Big Block 413. Has the special water pumpu and front entry water ports on the heads. This was for extra cooling. There 413s were build for applications like water pump houses and RVs that have long torque jobs. So extra cooling. Transmission is a 3 Speed Automatic. No slipping healthy strong shifts. There is only 48K miles this camper. It is a Dodge M300 truck chasis you can still get parts for it from Autozone, Advanced Napa etc. A lot of old grain trucks still in service out there on the M300 chasis. Gets 9 per gallon if you go easy but that"s a big block for you. Engine is smooth all new plugs wires and electronic ignition upgrade. I am gear head type to took care of all the mechanical side of thing. Great old classic piece. Some items on my list to do 1. Toilet valve has a crack and leaks but leaks so I just keep water to toiler turned off for now. 2. The bumper hit the body on pass back corner so need clean that up easy body repair needed. I hate to let it go but kids are getting older and busy. My Wife says it is time to part ways. Made a lot of memories with the kids local camping. Starts right up. I would be willing to Drive a couple hundred miles and have my wife follow me to you and prove how highway worthy this is. I have driven it 6hrs out to camp in Eastern Kentucky. Floats along. People love it and I get request at campgrounds to look inside. The Superior was the top of the line Camper in early 70s. Thanks for looking. If you want to come see it in person send me the request thru ebay.
