Vehicle description
Hello other business owners in need of a nice reliabletruck! We no longer have use for our 2010 Freightliner M2 106 20ft. This was purchased at the end of 2019 for our use as aclimate controlled mobile inventory storage solution. During our tenure we hada dozen vidmar cabinets inside (it will fit 14 vidmars total). Due to C19 andlimited parking at our business we have decided to downsize this sparevehicle. This is a very special and rare model Freightliner, onlyproduced for 1-2 years AFAIK. It has modern common rail injection and foremissions a Diesel Particulate Filter, but DOES NOT require or take DEF fluid /Urea injection. DEF / Urea injection is very often the most expensive (givenrecurring bills) and problematic system on modern commercial diesel trucks (andalso passenger cars). I sought out this specific combination (no DEF Cummins8.3L / Allison 4000) to be the more robust, and reliable of the Freightliners(I"ve worked in automotive for 15 years, exotic italian / german, diesel, etc). This was an original California vehicle (still has cleanidle equipped) owned by Berkeley Farms in Hayward and used as a milk truck. Itwas subsequently purchased by a Hayward based pizza ingredient distributoraround 2015, and then by us at the end of 2019. This Freightliner has an Aluminum lift gate and features thebest insulated box on the market (Johnson Truck Bodies / Great Dane) 5" thick insulation, fiberglass / waterproof interior with drains (veryclean condition no food products, odors etc). All tires have great matched tread and the truck drivesstraight, never leaks any fluids on the ground, the shop said that one coolanthose coupler is seeping / wet, but we have never had to add coolant in theyear we owned it. It has service records from the previous owner and myself, and requires no maintenance or repairs aside from a rear door gasket (purchasedbut never installed, included with sale). We had this truck luxuriously appointed with heated RangeRover seats and a new leather Cascadia steering wheel from Freightliner. Underour ownership this vehicle was driven by an owner operator and business partners, not employees. As such, it received the highest level of care in the course ofits use. Getting broken down is expensive, we took care of anythingwe could foresee that would get us stuck with an issue away from ourshop. This is a great mobile office or climate controlledtransportation truck. It no longer has the original problematic ($25k+) below 0degree 3 ton AC unit that runs off of the truck engine PTO. It currently has a complete new refer / heat system with110v 1.5 ton combined A/C Heat pump unit that will easily maintain cool and orheat the box running off of a jockey box mounted Honda gas generator. You will for sure not be able to get the 20 foot box coldenough to keep 10k lbs of raw meat or ice cream / dairy frozen or near freezing, but the way the box is insulated, 1.5 tons is enough to keep it cold all day orwarm all night in any condition (we have used it in temperatures exceeding 100degrees down to 0 degrees with impressive comfort. ============================ Repair / Service History: (3) NEW Group 31 Commercial Batteries - $600 - October 2019(under warranty, O"Reillys) Custom 2007 Range Rover seat installation, NEW OEM LeatherSteering Wheel (Cascadia option), Bluetooth Stereo, New Speakers, Xenon HeadlightRetrofit, New window switches, new Rear View Camera Monitor Screen - January2020 - $2k DPF Filter Cleaning Service with ECU Recalibration - $1k -March 2020 Rear differential replaced - $5k - March 2020 (underwarranty from Freightliner) Alignment - $600 - May 2020 Bendix Air Suspension Desiccant Dryer - $500 - May2020 Rear Box 1.5 ton A/C Unit with Heat pump - $2k -November 2020 (under warranty from manufacturer) Honda Inverter Generator (gas) for A/C Unit - $1.5k - Dec2020 (under warranty from Honda) The previous owner had some repairs done (NEW ECU,etc), full maintenance all filters / fluids, and other misc service withreceipts totaling around $10k IIRC, receipts are in the file (included withsale, obviously).
