After over 4 years of ownership I am ready to let this one of a kind garage kept Frankencab Army truck with ROPS(Roll over protection system) move on to another owner. I have had Health struggles and have not gotten to use the truck more than a few times in the past year. As you can see by the pics this cab was built to house a roll cage that was meant to protect the occupants in the event of a rollover accident that the regular soft top/hard top models of these trucks could not protect you from like this one. Truck came out of Ft Stewart GA, is rust free and probably one of the cleanest and best preserved you will find. Truck has air ride seats with 3 point seat belts. Has only 6470 actual miles on it and I have replaced numerous parts on it such as the Governor, Air dryer, Air compressor, PPV valve, Alternator, Batteries and had the radiator rebuilt as well. I also added a new stock Allison automatic transmission as well because I didn"t like the way the original one shifted. I have seen many listings on here where they mention that a truck has been rebuilt and all new from the govt. .well guess what? Since I am the first owner to purchase it from the govt 4 years ago I went a step further and basically replaced everything that the govt didn"t get right when they put these trucks through there massive rebuild/refurbishment program. Tires are in good shape with 75-80% tread and this truck has never been taken off road. .no gouges or cuts on tread. The CTIS(Central tire inflation system) system has been deleted/capped off since I got the truck since they are prone to never giving correct readings. Truck also has upgraded locking door handles and an upgraded air filter replacement. Also,
I installed a 24 to 12V converter capable of producing 100 Amps that runs the 1500 Watt stereo system with head unit, back up camera, switch board, and a couple other ancillary LED lights inside. Truck has all exterior LED lighting from trucklite and I doubt you will find another one where someone took the effort to drill holes for 9 cab lights through a 1/4 inch thick steel on the top of one of these Frankencab models. Thats probably why you never see any of the Frankencabs with marker lights. .Now I know that lol. To my knowledge there were only 500 of this model/unique cab design with ROPS made between 2007-2008 by Lapeer industries in Michigan and this I believe is even more unique because of the extras and especially the lighting I added. I replaced the pitiful sounding stock horn with a large 24 inch OTR SEMI truck air horn as well so it has the true Big rig sound.
I even replaced all of the foam insulation on the inside of the cab that is notorious for falling apart(as most of it did during the first year of ownership). Almost forgot to mention that I also added the extended front double frame to add a winch as well at some point and everything I used was new stock that I purchase from a truck dealer so all you have to do is add the winch if you like. Double chain sling on the front bumper is included as well.
