Private Jet Dry Lease
DASSAULT FALCON 100 550mph Speedster! 7 Passengers 1800 Mile Range
Hi, and thanks for looking! If you"ve been considering or currently charter your aircraft, think again. I own and operate 2 Corporate Jets, A Dassault Falcon 100, and a Hawker 800XP, and yes I dry lease them! They are Service Center maintained and are all current on their inspections, and they do fly quite frequently!
I sell blocks of time on these aircraft. These are called dry leases. I am not a Part 135 Air Carrier! Essentially, the FAA spells out a few minor hoops in dry leasing a aircraft. One, you have to understand that YOU, have operational control over the aircraft when it is not in my hangar, or maintenance. Further. .you don"t pay me for the fuel. .you can go out and get it wherever you like! You provide the flight crew. .so. .basically you are leasing from me. .essentially. .a good airplane.
It"s really easy as understanding what "operational control" entails. You can look up FAA Circular 91-37B and that will give you an idea, or in simple terms. . with respect to a flight, means the exercise of authority over initiating, conducting or terminating a flight.
You don"t have to worry about a inspection coming up, that costs $150,000. You don"t pay to store it, you don"t pay insurance.
You just pay for every hour you use it. .thats it!
Several questions you might have. .
*Who owns the aircraft? I do. . *How much is fuel? Typically in the $3.XX a gallon range currently *How much gas does it drink? About 200 gallons a hour *Where is the aircraft? I have facilities West of Chicago. .but I can have them flown ANYWHERE in the US! *Is there a bathroom? Yes. .there is a bathroom. *How much are pilots? Pilots can charge whatever they want. .but the good ones I see good flight crews charge typically between $800-$1,500 a day. . *How much does it "really cost?" Well. .that depends on how big of a block of time you buy! I charge less if you buy a bigger block. .but for numbers sake.
$1,250 a hour in lease rate. $750 gallons a hour in fuel. So, its going to cost you $2,000 a hour to fly the plane. .add your flight crew at $1,250. . your first hour "roughly" is going to cost you $3,250. . second hour $2,000. .and a bit less your third hour because the plane is high and burning less fuel.
You figure the typical Charter Cost in a (slow) light jet will cost you $30,000 round trip for a 1,200 mile trip. My cost is roughly less than half that. .all costs figured in.
So there is substantial cost savings.
I sell my blocks of time for $25,000 for a 20 hour block of FLIGHT time. .you have up to 12 months to use it. Finding pilots is pretty easy. There are Facebook groups I could direct you to that you could book a contract crew in 5 minutes. It"s as easy as ordering a pizza. .no. .actually. .it"s easier!
