Vehicle description

1991 Prevost H3-40 Motor Coach VIN# 2P9H33405M1001098
DDEC-controlled Detroit Diesel 8V92 turbo engine, Allison 4 speed automatic transmission. 150k miles (estimated). Air ride suspension, air brakes, 315/80R22.5 steer, drive and pusher tires on Alcoa aluminum rims, 40" 8" total length, 102" wide, 12" tall, tilt steering wheel, air powered front door, under cabin cargo storage, jake brake, 24 volt system, cruise control. Bus went through an extensive maintenance inspection by a professional bus service center November 2014 resulting in many new parts, including new radiator and hoses, rebuilt radiator fan gear box, new fan belt, new automatic transmission (ATEC) control module, four (4) new Continental drive axle tires, four (4) new heavy-duty batteries, new engine sensors, new fuel filters and oil filters, engine oil change, and new air springs.
Interior completely stripped down to shell, ready for motorhome or limo conversion. All original seats and bathroom removed.
Interior height, Floor to Ceiling: 77" @ Center; 74" @ Windows
The bus is a great starting point for the money. Ideal for a DIY RV Class-A conversion or an entertainer bus. Keep in mind, this is a Prevost H3-40, with all of the associated benefits. Love those big bays! Forty feet bus length keeps your options open to tow a longer trailer and meets the national park limit.
I purchased mid-2015, and drove 600mi to my place. Ran strong, shifted perfect, hi-lo jake, cruise control, temps, pressures, etc. etc. Has been off the road for several years, so plan on getting serviced by a qualified mechanic if returning to service. I suggest you expect to address the following items: routine service engine, transmission, fuel filters, etc.; brake service; new front tires; comes with a set of un-mounted retreads for tag; lower curb-side windshield (cracked); curb-side rear view mirror (cracked); w indow adjacent to driver seat fogged (common to this type of bus) and time to replace; a few side widows if you plan to keep all windows in the coach; various marker lights; bay door gas charged struts; exhaust leak at engine manifold; has engine-driven A/C unit, however may require extensive work to return to service; air leaks, which seems to be bay door locking mechanisms, which I had planned to eliminate.
Starts up great, airs up, shifts into forward/neutral/reverse, air-brakes release.
I am selling as plans changed from a DIY Class-A bus conversion to Class-B van conversion, after reconsidering our needs and intended use.
Bus comes with clean, transferable Michigan title in prior owners name. The title is RV/Motorhome classification. Buyer responsible for title, licensing, insurance and shipping.
All photos on listing were taken on January 26th, 2018.
Happy bus shopping!
