1988 Porsche 944 Turbo cup car Chassis number #165077
A rare opportunity to own this 944 Turbo cup car! This car has been ownedfor over 20 years by the same owner. Originally delivered to Downtown Porsche in Toronto Canada in 1988, this is one of the only street legal racecars that could be driven to the track, raced, and then driven home!
1/39 Factory racecars produced. 1 of 7 painted black from the factory. 16 painted white, and 16 painted red making this a rare find. This is also the first factory black car to come up for sale on the public market!
Many original features still apparent on this car; - Stationary trunk key with cable - Matter light cage - Lightweight carpetin - Original CASC tag and code tag - Original engine bay battery cut off switch operational from inside - Original staggered interior seating - Original CASC log book logging every race in its history - Original owners manual - Original windshield stickers not yet installed - CASC programs featuring photos of the car in action - Road and Track magazine featuring photos of the car This car comes with all associated memorabilia including all race logs, paperwork, poster, Original CASC Porsche jacket, stickers, handbook, and all service records.
The engine was fully rebuilt 3 years ago. It has an upgraded oil cooler, Remed transmission that has been polished and blueprinted, and a Torsten differential. The car has been Dyno’d at over 300hp.
Some fun facts; Although 165077 wasn ’ t much of a podium placer, its history suggests a clean non-beat car.
