This 2003 Panoz GTS (NOT a school car nor a WC car) is a three-owner car with known history from new. Never used at a driving school, as it was raced occasionally by the first two owners and is currently used at track days. The car was originally equipped with a Ford 351ci V8, a new 374ci Ford S374W V8 crate motor was installed last year & is paired to a 5-speed manual making 550 horsepower (dyno sheet included). Additional equipment consists of a STACK ST8100 instrument package, upgraded fuel system, differential fluid cooler, helmet cooling fan/hose, a passenger seat, 18″ forged wheels. This Panoz has four years of service records, two sets of wheels, 6 sets of used slicks with plenty of grip for practice/track days/HPDE, 1 brand new set of Continental race tires(over $1100), new front brake rotors(1 track day), and miscellaneous parts/spares.
Outside, the Panoz is in good condition for a race car with no body damage and good paint throughout. The car was never involved in an impact going back 10 years to the prior owner, and upon careful examination of the body panels and chassis it does not appear to have sustained any serious damage. A logbook from the first owner covers 2004-2007.
This GTS comes with two sets of 18″ wheels and tires, 6 sets of Pirelli/Continental 18” slicks with lots of life remaining, and a set of new front brake rotors. The car receives a thorough inspection following each track day.
A STACK ST8100 instrument package has been fitted and has inputs for a variety of engine and chassis sensors. All of the usual engine performance sensors are installed, with additional inputs available for other uses. It also records lap times and predictive lap times.
The driver sits in a Cobra racing bucket, while a Momo seat has been fitted for a passenger. A helmet cooling fan and hose are also fitted, and a CoolShirt system is included but not currently installed. The car is equipped with an on-board fire suppression system & handheld extinguisher.
The 374ci Ford S374W V8 crate motor makes 550 horsepower (dyno sheet included). This purpose built, factory-sealed race engine was designed for reliability and longevity. It is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission and has less than 25 hours of on-track at-speed time since being installed. The car runs conservatively with a 6,500 rpm rev limiter chip installed in the ignition box, though the engine is capable of 7,200 rpm.
A performance fuel-system with a high-output pump, regulator, and filter prevents fuel starvation. Further upgrades consist of a differential fluid cooler, enduro-type “fast fill” 11 gallon bayonet-style fuel fill feature, and conventional 5 gallon bottle-fill feature. The car currently runs its factory mufflers with added resonators but straight pipes are included.
All fluids were replaced one month ago. Four years of service records are included.
