This is my father-in-law"s scratch built Formula Ford, to the original 1960"s SCCA rules (1600 ford engine etc). He is a retired Engineering prof, and this was his labor of love. It hung in the SDSU College Of Engineering for years.
He built the frame, molded the body, fabbed the axles and De Dion rear suspension, remarkable really. It ran at Riverside CA 3X . Unique design, live front axle (Dad insisted it worked great on smooth tracks like the long gone Riverside Int"l Raceway). It"s all there less the steering wheel and 1600 engine sadly. VW reversed transaxle, drum brakes (that"s all there was then), all instruments, pedals, master cylinders, etc. It lives in my storeroom-hopefully someone will bring it back to life. If not, I will have to scrap it out.
