Vehicle description
This is about a 15 year old trailer, that I bought slightly used. I made it into a more versatile trailer, that could transform into any purposeful use, at any time. I started by filling in the open floor with 2X lumber. Then I had the stake side mounts custom made and installed all around the trailer. Most of the mounts have keyhole cutouts to accommodate ratchet straps when transporting. I made the stake sides out of rough sawn 1X lumber and configured them for easy removal and in sizes and places that made sense for all types of access and transport needs. All of the sides are removable and when they are all installed, they are linked together with hardware keeping them close together and tight. I’ve even used this as a parade float, which as it turns out, was a great use for it. The pictures should speak for themselves. This original trailer for the most part is as good as it was new, with the exception of the fenders, which have become quite thin and has many tiny holes, which have nothing to do with the structural integrity of the trailer. The integrity of the trailer everywhere else is in LIKE NEW condition. Not a single problem with rust or anything else. All the metal of the trailer has a fresh coat of gloss black paint and looks sharp. All the lights have been serviced, as well as NEW LED rear directional/break lights. All the wood on the trailer has a fresh coat of redwood semi-transparent stain on the exterior. The wood condition of the stake-sides is 95% solid, there are 3 boards that have been effected by some water rot caused by extended storage. It doesn’t take away from any esthetics or functionality. This trailer is a one of a kind, open car hauler/utility/parade float/commercial trailer. I’m sad to let it go, but it has many more decades of use in it, just not with me.
