Vehicle description

RARE, RARE, RARE! Mullins Red Cap Utility Trailers were manufactured in 1936 and 1937. The name came from the human baggage carriers at railroad stations. These two-wheel trailers were very popular in the 1930’s due to the limited luggage carrying capacity of cars of this era. The Red Cap Trailer was the only fully engineered, all steel, two-wheel auto trailer on the market at that time. They originally sold for $119.50 in 1936, but fully restored examples have sold for as much as $26,000.00 at auction during the past 10 years! I have owned this original, fully restored Mullins trailer for the past twelve years. It was clearly the best and most accurately restored example I could find after a five year search. I have not been able to find any evidence of past repairs or existing rust damage. It has been displayed unused in an automotive museum since its purchase. All of its sheet metal panels are in excellent condition. It has the proper, original 17” Mullins artillery style wheels , and NOS Mullins hub caps . It also has its original tail light and extremely hard to find license plate bracket , along with its proper trailer hitch, spare wheel and tire, and tire cover. Its latches are fully operational, and its tires are new. Its spring loaded top mechanism is in excellent restored condition. In short, I seriously doubt you’ll find a Mullins Trailer in superior overall condition anywhere in the United States today! It is the perfect addition to any vintage or classic automobile collection, or that of a hot rodder who is looking for more storage capacity for rod runs, etc. Don’t miss this opportunity to acquire the very best.
