These fit into the glass window track and include wire insect mesh on the inside face.Commercially rated snow chains for the rear drive wheels.History:This vehicle spent the first 143,000 miles of its life as a hotel shuttle van.Upon purchase in 2018, a full service was performed with a full brake replacement. In 2019 the battery was replaced.Being a passenger van, the original layout comprised 3 rows of seats in the rear. The van underwent an extensive retrofit in 2018 to convert to its current condition, as a fully self sufficient stealth traveling van.Benefits of converting a passenger van (as opposed to a commercial van) are:⁃Full glass, sides & rear, giving 360 degrees vision while inside and great interior light during the day.⁃Factory secondary AC located on the roof, powered by the vehicle when running.⁃Clean appearance from the exterior.⁃Commercially registered, opening up more parking options in urban areas. The build:The retrofit started with removal of all interior finishes, exclusive of the front dash.Installation of two acrylic marine roof hatches that provide light & ventilation. They also have removable insect screen and push-in plywood covers (backed with 1/2” rigid foam insulation), that provide a thermal and light block. Full sound deadening layer, (KilMat 80 mil) a self adhesive application on the floor, front to rear including the wheel arches and all 3 side step wells.Full insulation install on walls & ceiling. All back side surfaces of the body sheet metal were covered with self adhesive closed cell 3mm foam, which has a middle layer of reflective foil. The cavities were then filled with denim batt insulation. Finally, the cavities were sealed with reflective bubble wrap insulation, which was attached with foil tape to the inside face of the body.In the roof, the denim was replaced with ridged foam sheet insulation covered with reflective bubble wrap. The structural frame assembly cavities were filled with expanding spray foam. The walls, ceiling & floor are finished with 1/4” maple plywood. The ceiling is 5/8” T&G hickory. All finish wall & ceiling material is installed with 1/16” adhesive foam sealing tape to separate it from the metal body and eliminate squeaking. Cabinetry is constructed with 3/4” maple plywood. All interior wood surfaces are white washed with Rubio Monocoat finish. The floor is covered with Flor carpet tiles. Easily removable for cleaning or replacement.Interior lighting is dimmable LED strips installed in 4 locations; under main bed, at rear of upper bed, under front edge of kitchen counter and at front edge of upper kitchen shelf. These are switched independently as lower and upper. The 4 factory ceiling cabin lights are also operational, switched either at the individual light itself or from the front dash. There are 8 drawers under the laminated kitchen counter, all soft close drawer slides with locking push catches. All drawers have removable 1/4” plywood bottom panels faced with non slip grip mat to stop the contents from sliding while under way. A pullout, soft close, double rubbish bin is located directly under the sink. There is a 110v outlet located behind the kitchen counter, just below the window. It’s connected to the Goal Zero Yeti house battery which has a builtin 1500 watt AC inverter. A 110v single induction hot plate provides for cooking. When not in use it lives in a slotted compartment to the right, behind the fridge. This 110v outlet is also suitable for a toaster or other smaller kitchen appliance.Above the kitchen window is a full width trough shelf which also has a non slip bottom. The sink is stainless steel with a removable bottom grate, removable basket strainer and stainless steel drain plug. A metal, chrome plated faucet, powered by a 12v Shurflo water pump provides cold water from the 15 gallon poly tank, located behind/ under the main bed. The sink drains directly under the van, with no holding tank. The water tank is filled internally via the 4” removable access port located at the top of the tank. The fridge is a 12v Norcold N1000 series. It has 3.2 cubic feet of interior volume, 0.2 of which is the freezer. The unit runs super quiet. There is a cabinet under the the fridge at floor level for the pullout capsule toilet.Between the fridge and toilet is the battery compartment which contains the Goal Zero Yeti 1000 Lithium battery. This self contained unit provides ample power to service the water pump, fridge, kitchen counter outlet and LED lights. The battery is primarily charged by a gang of 3, 110v chargers that are powered (while the van is running) via a 3000 watt pure sine inverter, located under the drivers seat. A 100 watt solar panel located on the roof between the hatches also provides power to recharge the battery.A permanently installed 10 gauge extension cord also provides shore power when available. There is a connection under the van, directly in front of the left rear wheel, out of sight. There is storage along the right side, behind the right side sliding door, accessible via three lift up lids. The heater is located on the floor of the front compartment, the wheel arch and heater filter/ intake are located in the middle compartment. The rear compartment is wide open. The main sofa converts to a queen size bed. It’s hinged in the middle and straddles the right side bench storage cabinets when in bed position. Converting to the sofa position is an easy single person action and takes about 10 seconds. Under the main bed are 3 large pullout drawers, on soft close slides, with lockable catches. The upper bed is full length and 28” wide. It is also hinged and can store tight to the ceiling, or drop down 12” to allow for sleeping or storage. Both mattress are organic futons. An easily removable third seat bolts directly to the anchor locations from the original factory seat. The back rest reclines, has a flush mounted left side arm rest and a built-in 3 point seat belt. There is bulk storage under the front passenger seat, accessed by sliding the passenger seat fully forward. Storage is also available behind the drivers seat, both in the pocket and on the floor.A thermostatically controlled, 5Kw diesel cabin heater is located at floor level in the storage cabinet directly behind the side sliding door. It’s plumbed into the vehicle diesel tank and electrically connected to the vehicle battery, so totally separated from the Goal Zero house battery power system. For privacy, the windows are covered with a continuous curtain made from soft, deep charcoal colored, light weight cotton flannel material. It’s easily and quickly installed with built in magnets that attach to the metal body above the windows. The curtain covers 100% of the windows starting behind the drivers seat, running down the left side windows, across the rear windows and returning along the right side windows, finishing behind the passenger seat. Full light blockout at night.Another curtain of the same material closes off the front seats, hanging from built-in magnets in the ceiling.Removable ski rack brackets can be installed above the right side rear windows. They accept 2 sets of skis stacked one on top of the other, tucking them neatly out of the way.The front seat area is untouched from factory original and in great condition.
