Vehicle description
Custom conversion of a 1985 MCI 40 foot diesel pusher. We did a conversion of a MCI passenger bus about 8 years ago and it has served us well. Just a list of the trips this Motorhome has been on include Key West, Bristol to NASCAR races several times, Indy for NHRA twice along with many camping trips. Just over 345,000 miles. Barely broken in for these buses since they were designed for 2 million miles. Designed around being comfortable while traveling with full size bathroom, maple kitchen cabinets, rear bedroom with full size bed, dining table and seating that converts to bed and a futon. Sleeps at least 6 with this setup. We set this up to be great in a campground or somewhere without all the hookups. This has been a very dependable Motorhome, easy to drive and maneuver. Well over $45000 invested not counting any labor.
Features and conversion highlights: Detroit Diesel 8V71 engine Allison Automatic New U-joints between transmission and drive axle Alcoa Aluminum Wheels Painted when conversion was done 50 amp electrical connection, city water hookup, sewer connection for RV park connection Yanmar 10 KW diesel generator hooked to main diesel tank new brakes installed approx 8000 miles ago 6000 watt inverter/charger with room for 4 large batteries to run on dc power Onboard trickle charger for starter batteries that functions any time on land power or generator is running 50 gallon fresh water tank with pressure activated pump Hot Water heater Approx 40 gallon grey water tank Approx 20 gallon black water tank (valves for tanks are set up so tanks can be operated individually) 2 Rooftop AC/Heat Pump units with strip heat backup High quality kitchen cabinets Full size refridgerator Combination Convection Oven/Microwave Large Bathroom with tile floor Full size shower Rear bedroom with full bed and storage underneath Carpet in bedroom Laminate floors in hall, kitchen and main area Custom light blocking shades that raise and lower in channels Sony 42" TV in lower bay for outside viewing Lower bay in center is completely open for massive amount of room for storing all your gear and much more. .
Things to consider, aren"t new or may need attention: The engine is a Detroit Diesel. Read up on them. Great engine but it will leak oil. Just check and add oil when filling with fuel (fuel tank holds 110 gallon). Brakes were installed during conversion. Work ok, but they should be adjusted. Outside needs a coat of wax. Some trim work needs to be finished on the inside. Probably could be completed in a day or two. Wipers do not work. We just put RainX on windshield, that works great. Wipers are designed to work off air compressor and are overcomplicated so we did not fix. There is an electric motor conversion available.
