A Mazda RX8 race car setup for driver education / HPDE or 24 hours of lemons/champ car.
The good: Rotary starts up hot or cold and pulls strong. Professionally installed/welded cage, H&R springs, rear sway bar, race tech seat ($3000 new) like new set of enkei 18X8 rims ($1200). Needs little things, but basically ready to go to the track. Has Hawk brake pads. A spare transmission is included.
The bad: Rust in the drivers front rocker, but only on the outer skin. Load bearing structure is fine and solid. No significant rust elsewhere. RaceTech seat expired in 2019, but think with a brace it will still be OK for lemons. Fiberglass nose damaged, but easy fix. Had a previous small hit in the front which damaged the headlight area, repair included a fiberglass driver"s fender. Glass missing from driver"s side rear door - this was done at a lemons race as the judges wanted faster access to the electrical kill switch. Small dings from age
