For Sale 1992 Miata STL/SM Race car The car started as a legal SM with an Aim Dash, internal net, cool shirt system, transponder, Koyo radiator, radio setup, fresh SM engine, new transmission, and new 4.3 LSD and was in very good shape. We purchased a separate1.6L engine and built it for STL but retained all the SM parts to allow for conversion back to SM for SCCA/NASA or Mazda Historic racing. The original SM Engine, SM exhaust, stock ECU, rotors, 230 cc injectors etc. are included in the sale. Have had a great 30 year race career with the SCCA. .time to retire. Car not raced in 2018.
The New Engine for STL : The new engine has 170 hp at the crank (150 RWHP at 7250). I shift at 7500, Redline is 8000 rpm. Engine presently has approximately 6 hours on it. The STL engine was assembled and dyno tuned by Jesse Prather. Head- built by Jeff Winters with new lifters and new exhaust springs all around Supertech Pistons/Rings with 10.6 to 1 CR Eagle Forged Rods/ARP bolts Mazdaspeed racing bearings Jesse Prather Cams- high torque FP cams with adjustable Cam Gears Jesse Prather race preped Throttle Body Stock flywheel /Act Clutch- High Volume oil pump Jesse Prather baffled pan/Lightened Crank Pulley Gates Timing belt/new idlers 270 cc cleaned and matched injectors The chassis: New Poly suspension bushing everywhere SM suspension (shocks ,springs, roll bars) New 2 qt Manual Accusump- New Firecharger Fire Systems New Oil Filter/cooler adaptor RX7 Oil Cooler Jesse Prather header with race exhaust ( runs 93 db sound level) New Trick Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator New Deatschwerks 200 Fuel Pump New Megasquirt PNP ECU New windshield in 2017 New Inovative AFR Meter New Brembo Rotors(Hawk Blue pads) Cold air intake New belts in 2016, New Battery in 2017 Two additional sets (3 total) of 15 inch wheels
