1966 Lotus Elan Vintage Racecar. Engine : All steel 1600cc twin cam dry sump engine. Crank is a steel unit from Dave Bean, Carrillo rods, JE pistons, light weight clutch 7 ¼ inch Tilton clutch assembly. Alloy Radiator. Engine and head work was built by Lotus John. He makes the alloy parts for the Elan that Chequered Flag Racing, Bean, RD, Lee and others sell. Exhaust system : Equal length stepped header tubes designed by Burns Stainless with a Burns Stainless collector. Gearbox : Semi-close ratio synchronized 4-speed with magnesium bell housing. A spare gearbox with straight cut, ultra-close ratio gears and Quaife gear set is included. Front suspension : Fully adjustable. Koni alloy double-adjustable front shocks, uprated vertical link, chromoly stub axles, alloy caliper bracket, alloy front hubs, 26R copy AR alloy front calipers. Rear suspension : Fully adjustable with Koni inserts 26R type alloy caliper. Rear end : Quaife LSD 3.9 ratio and a CV axle conversion kit. Interior : As you see; tach, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, battery switch, shift light, Tilton F/R brake bias adjuster, etc. Wheels and Tires : Minilite-type wheels with Avon tires. (Could use two new Avons on rear.) 4 spare Minilite-type wheels with Toyo R88 tires in good shape are included. Clutch : Rebuilt by Tilton one race ago. New main and connecting rod bearings one race ago. Body and Chassis : Custom flares and roll-cage. Incredible, beautifully engineered car that couldn’t be duplicated for $100,000.
