Vehicle description
Most racing people would question " why is the Lola selling a such a low price ? " There is definitely great value here.
It does require some attention. The price is low to allow a considerable amount of professional work and still have good value.
LOLA Sports Racer . It began life as a Formula car. It originally belonged to SCCA great Bill Tannhauser (1972 ?)
I raced the car in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The car went into storage , the body was used on another chassis.
The transfer of a body to a different marque was common in the 1950 , 60 , 70 and even 1980 s , for aerodynamics .
Recently the Lola was brought out of storage and the body that was used in the 70s and 80s was returned to the Lola chassis.
Because of it s age and history the car is welcome in most vintage organizations , as well as SCCA , NASA , and MCSSC .
With a highly modified 510 engine the car could run in CAN AM circles. Present engine has 240Z pistons and a race cam.
The formula chassis has had extremely professional aluminum out riggers built , also nose assembly and tail assembly created
out of aluminum are excellent. The creation of the bolt on out riggers allows the LOLA formula car chassis to remain original. As
a result it could easily be returned to it s formula car configuration . All original super vee bolt on chassis parts are included .
Two sets of wheels Paint is good . The pictures with graphics are from the body on another car .u
The pictures of the car and body with out graphics are as the car is now. It on a dolly in order to move around in my shop.
Wilwood brakes (4 pot) on all 4 corners , 3 new masters , rebuilt calipers , VW transmission as used in early Super Vees.
Datsun 1600 overhead cam 4 cylinder 510 engine as used in the 70s and 80s. The engine is an early Datsun 510.
Custom adapter plate , custom lightened vw fly wheel fitted to the Datsun crank with a Porsche clutch.
. A van Diemen behind the seat fuel cell. Front and rear of body are painted , the rear has been modified from the
picture of it on the track. it is now in two pieces (left + right) to improve fitting on the chassis. Wire harness is
in place. The car needs wires connected in engine area , plumbing of oil , water , and gas. Webers need to be gone thru ,
jets installed , linkage fitted , etc. throttle cable is in place. The car was run as a Ferrari 312 PB clone. For years it wore
Ferrari badges front and rear (not included) Cavallino shields on the sides , and a Ferrari engraved script on the valve cover.
( included ) The car has not been raced in 30 years. Two sets of wheels. Sanctioning body log books included.
Engine and transmission are mounted to and in the car car. calipers are rebuilt. Rotors had surface rust from sitting
shows up on a picture or two, this rust has been removed and the present rotors and condition are shown on other pics.
Rotors are vented with aluminum hats used , however , very nice. Many spare parts go along with the car ( ECU , all ECU wiring , custom exhaust , and more. The car needs to be gone thru , needs plumbing of water , oil and brake systems .
several boxes of spares included , engine spares , chassis spares , spare wheels , the splitter , side plates for rear wing.
I started the Lola two years ago . I am tired , old and have too many projects with not enough time left to finish all of them.
NO reserve. Please do not bid unless you are sincere and plan to buy. The car was sold previously .
The purchaser had only the intent on acquiring my bank account numbers. in other words a scam .
The car is for sale locally . Auction could end at any time.
