Vehicle description

1968 Jeep M-715 Military Truck with the AN/GRC-142A/D RATT Shelter. PA Title. The truck was restored in 2006 and 2007 and has won awards. Stored 100% indoors and never rained on. Original engine and drive train with 14k miles. Has about 1,000 miles since restoration. Stock Military 24 volt system. Body rust was cut out and new panels welded in. No bondo patch jobs! New rockers both inner and outer were made as well as cab corners. All body panels replaced were completed and the welds smoothed. Then, the entire truck was media blasted to bare steel after everything removable was blasted separately, including the wheels. One coat of PPG epoxy primer, then final dents and dings removed. Scuffed and another coat of epoxy. Three coats of Gillespie 24087 were then applied. Removed parts were primed and painted off the truck. Wiring repaired as necessary and the truck was re-assembled. Frame and underside was only blasted and painted on outside exposed areas. Engine and compartment were not re-painted. Repairs include new brake shoes all around as well as lines, hoses, dual master and wheel cylinders. Modern two barrel Holly carb replaced the single barrel carb and manifold, New Ignitor (distributer), plugs and wires were just installed, new battery box, wiper motors, new lights all around with composite lights in the rear, solid state turn signals, new seats, new top, gas tank removed cleaned and painted, new pioneer tools, tires were new in 2006 and mounted after wheel priming and painting, battery disconnect key, heater, new glass except roll ups, gauges and sending units. USA number painted on the truck is the original. Unit decals are from My Signal Corp Company as I operated these in the late 1960’s. No mechanical issues, runs well. Usual minor oil seal problems. Jack included but no lug wrench. I always carried a ¾” breaker bar and sockets. Boarding ladder included. You may notice wet areas in the pictures. That’s because I washed it for the pictures and it did not dry in time. Also, some mud splashes will be seen in the pictures from my dirt road way after washing. More pictures are available. E-bay only allows 24. The AN/GRC-142 radio teletype shelter was restored and placed in my service in 2006. Equipment was removed and repaired in my electronics shop. Shelter re-wired as necessary as some parts and cables were missing. I use it often as I am a ham radio operator. It was not re-painted as back in my Signal Crop days, the trucks and shelters did not match so I wanted it to look original. Now 99% working as it came from the Army. The only thing never used or tested is the fuel heater but it also has the electric heater. You can learn about the shelter on my website, rattrig.com as too much to describe here. Runs on 24 volt DC from the truck or 120 Volt AC with a 50 amp circuit or generator required. Long AC power cable is included as well as all the accessories, remotes, antennas, ribbons, paper, spare lamps and telephones shown in the pictures. The large case is the GRA-50 dipole antenna kit for fixed station use. All manuals for the truck and shelter included. $500 due immediately via PayPal and full payment must be made in 7 days with certified funds. After payment(s) remain clear after 7 business days, the signed title will be sent FedEx for you to transfer the title. The vehicle cannot be moved until the title is transferred and you have insurance, if you are driving it away. Once you do the transfer, you can come and get it or have your transporter pick it up. I will NOT allow you to drive it home on my license and insurance. You can NOT bring a check and drive away. I am aware of all the common scams so don’t even try. If using a transporter, advise them the truck is 9’8” high and weighs 7,500 Lbs. You are encouraged to come and see the truck and shelter so you know exactly what is here.
