Going to move the New Years Day Race to an Asphalt Facility for 2021 ! Hopefully that means a better surface but you just never know what to expect, besides a good time with a bunch of racers adapting to the conditions presented. Join us at Tomah Sparta Speedway (Wisconsin) for the 1 PM start (MUCH sooner if you are racing, Pits open at 9 AM)
Here is the 2nd place car form our WIR event, Jay Orr had the field covered and then some until Mother Nature threw a curve ball with 100 to go. Class of the filed on the dry track and a multiple winning car so I had to see what was inside. I pulled the head for inspection and I"m glad to report a real 2.0 mitsubishi with stock pistons, bore and stroke. These cars have been over looked because, well they are mitsubishis I guess, not anywhere near as sexy as a Honda or as simple as a Cavalier but for circle track that Asian continent platform that puts the engine on the left (heavy cast iron block) sure helps get off the corner. To be clear THIS CAR IS NOT RUNNING and the cylinder head was set back on with finger tight bolts but you will need a head gasket, etc. I did find a Chilton manual on here for about $10 and I bagged the bolts up so why not give it a shot?
In a continuing effort to keep a level playing field our series keeps the top 2 finishing cars. Walk away with decent prize money but you"re really only a winner if you won more than you spent! Most of the big dollar racers are busy somewhere else complaining about the high cost of racing leaving us to have our fun. Dumb, stupid fun! We are The Impact Survival Series, 10 years now. Crazy damn deal with a bunch of really smart racers having the time of their life!
