Vehicle description
The first School Bus Conversion by Reimagining Home is for sale! It is currently listed for $35,000 as there are a few interior projects that need addressed before it is considered completed. The engine is a DT466 with 135,000 miles on it, we got it at 129k and drove it from Pennsylvania to Washington state and back. The bus gets roughly 7.5 mpg with diesel fuel.

Mechanical updates:
New Brakes front and rear
New brake steel brake line going to the rear
New fan clutch
Oil change
New fuel, coolant and air filters
Body upgrades:
We raised the roof two feet
Replaced the floor and wheel wells that were rusted out
Replaced the rear wall of the bus as it was too rusted to use
Removed the front door and stairs, added a floor and a navigator chair
Fabricated a new door that lowers with a winch and the stairs are built into the door.
Removed the emergency exits and replaced with skylights
Added a large skylight window across the transition to the new roof height
Systems:
Solar: 750 watts in 3 250watt panels, midnight combiner box, Samlex 1000 watt inverter, ts-mppt 45 charge controller, 8 six volt duracell ultra batteries arranged to form a 24volt 420ah battery bank, the inverter is running a standard home breaker box with 9 outlets and 9 low profile led lights.
Water: 84 gallons fresh water storage and a 3gpm 12v pump.
Insulation: 6 inches of roxul r23 insulation compressed under the ceiling, walls and floor boards.
Exterior paint: Flat army Green
Projects waiting to be completed include: framing out and installing wall boards in the front driver and passanger compartment, trimming out the bus, framing and trimming around the skylights, random 12v wiring routing, installing flooring as it is currently plywood, installing wall boards on the passanger side, and a few other small things like an outlet cover, etc.
