For sale is a 1992 AM General HMMWV M998 that was just completely restored this past year with only 15,000 original miles! ! This HMMWV has a CLEAR NEW MEXICO STREET LEGAL TITLE! ! It was originally an Army N ational Guard truck here in the Southwest and was auctioned off in 2015 when I purchased it. Upon picking it up I completed all the paperwork to obtain a street legal title and started the restoration it early 2020. I completely disassembled and stripped the paint from the body which was free from any damage and repainted it with two coats of high grade 686 desert tan C.A.R.C. replacement paint using a professional spay gun. I then installed all new military decals and data plates inside and out. A brand new GMA tan four man soft top kit that included soft doors was also installed. It comes equiped with a rear airlift bumper that was installed using all the correct spacer plates, mounting brackets, and hardware. The rear bumper is equipped with a mud flap kit, swing away spare tire carrier, swing away dual jerry can holder,(Jerry Cans Not Included) license plate bracket, trailer hitch bracket with both a pintle hitch and a 2 inch receiver hitch. The front has the newer style ECV hood with matching snout that was mounted utilizing the correct frame extension brackets, A2 shackles, A2 winch plate, and ECV front grille support brackets. New heavy variant up-armored springs and shocks were also installed all around for a nice ride and an aggressive stance. New LED lights were also installed all around to include new fuel and light housing buckets using the correct AM GENERAL rivets. The tires are like new Goodyear Wrangler MT 37X12.5X16.5 Radials mounted on 12 bolt wheels. The drive train on this HMMWV was all upgraded as well with a 6.5 Turbo Diesel Engine, 4L80E 4 speed Transmission, and a 242 Transfer Case. The 6.5 Turbo Diesel Engine came out of a super clean very low mile M1152 ECV HMMWV with less than 1,000 miles on it. It also came equipped with the larger GM-7 turbo which is the most sought after turbo package. When I received the engine I installed a new water pump, fuel pump, fuel filter, K&N oil filter, glow plugs, cooling fan, crank shaft pulley, front crank shaft seal, rear main seal, coolant crossover pipe, and many other new parts. I also installed a new AM General 6.5 Turbo Diesel engine harness, and a new Nartron smart start box with a KASCAR grounding harness. I also installed the correct AM General Body panel pieces located around the dog house and an AM General Dog House cover to accommodate the new turbo power pack. The 4L80E was installed utilizing the correct transmission crossover bracket and a GEN 2 standalone harness specifically made for the HMMWV by the U.S. Shift Company. The transmission also has a Predator Performance Transmission Pan which increases oil capacity by 3.25 quarts for cooler temperatures and is made of a sand-cast aluminum with raised fins for high end strength and durability. The 4 speed shifter and shifting linkages are all new and correct. All new 10K drive shafts were also installed front, rear, and intermediate with new U Joints and Differential yokes. A new A2 fuel tank was installed with correct drive shaft protection plates and hardware. The engine, transmission, transfer case, differentials, gear boxes, and coolant system were completely flushed, and all new premium fluids were installed. The windshield glass and windshield frame has all new weather seals and gaskets with zero cracks or chips in the glass what-so-ever. New rear view mirrors were installed with brackets and hardware. The HMMWV is also equipped with two Optima Red Top Batteries with the correct Military Optima battery conversion trays and battery hold down bracket. An Orion 24/12 power converter, and a Blue Sea systems 12 circuit fuse block were also installed in the battery compartment for a nice clean look to run any type of 12 volt accessories you may want. The interior was also completely gone through with super clean carpets, and new center wood panel insulators. It also comes equipped with the up-graded high back seats front and rear with the driver’s seat having an adjustable base. All new AM General OEM black 3 point retractable seat belts were installed front and rear with new insulation pads located on the B pillar on the drivers and passengers sides. All the lights, blinkers, windshield wipers, horn, and gauges work perfectly and as they should. The undercarriage is in excellent condition as well and looks brand new! ! The attention to detail that was put in to this HMMWV will amaze you, and is by far one of the cleanest ones you will find! ! This HMMWV runs and drives excellent with plenty of power to easily enjoy highway speeds, mountain trails, or quiet rides through town. It steers straight down the road without any slop or play in the steering wheel and is absolutely free from any mechanical issues or problems, I would not hesitate driving it anywhere! ! This HMMWV is adult owned and has only been used to drive around town for short joy rides and has always been stored inside my garage. A clean and clear New Mexico On Road Title in hand.
