We bought this plane following a landing accident in Georgia. The carb bowl plug was left unsafe-tied resulting in the fuel being dumped overboard. The plane landed in a pecan grove and messed up the nose gear, tip of the left wing, and the prop. We trailered the plane back to morristown, performed a prop strike inspection per the Lycoming and FAA requirements for AD 2004-10-14 compliance. This doesn’t constitute a complete tear down. Please check this information for yourself if you don’t mind. Annual inspection was performed feb of 2020. So it is good for quite some time yet. There is a small crack in the windshield as a result of an installation error I would assume but it has been stop drilled and is not a factor. plane is a 1971 model and has been flying as a converted 150 hp airplane since the 80’s. The 150 horsepower conversion makes the little plane a hot rod! Off in 800 feet and climbing at 1000 rpm. Cruise is 132 to 135 mph. I wish it had extended tanks but it does not. The wheel pants are removed at this time due to a crack in the nose wheel pant. It will be repaired before the plane Leaves but the pants will be included not installed.
