Vehicle description
Up for sale is my 1995 GMC champion skoolie conversion. It only has 68,000 original miles and sports a cat 3116 turbo Diesel engine and Allison transmission (the most powerful variant of the 3116). This was a Former VA hospital transport bus and when I say this thing runs absolutely flawless, I really mean it! I would drive this thing across the country 100 times without worry. It has a rear air conditioning unit and heaters throughout for when you’re on the go. This thing is absolutely beautiful on the inside and there is no way that you could build something similar for less than $75,000. All of the countertop frames, cabinet frames and floors are all built with one by one steel square tubes and are all welded in unison to create a quiet ride and low amount of flex. Yes, the floors in the cabinets are actually one huge piece of latticework steel. Steel tubing is stronger than using wood as well as being lighter and the only reason, I can see, that people stray away from it is because of the amount of labor it takes to construct something of this magnitude. The floors are inlaid with real eucalyptus wood It took two weeks to construct the pattern and lay the flooring. Yes, a lot of labor in the form of cutting, welding, and finish grinding, went into the floors and cabinets. The wet bathroom is a all steel constructed unit With half inch square bar floor and a Natures Head composting toilet. The floor doesn’t sound very comfortable but it is a joy on the bottom of your feet. All of the metal walls in the bathroom are covered in a waterproof sealant and then painted for long lasting durability. The floor however is ground to the raw steel state and then clear coated asked to give a nice reflection when the lights hit it. The interior living room space has a huge couch and, at the end of both countertops, a folding section that can be used as a desks or dining tables. On the rear focal wall is a swing up trap door that hides the bedroom and queen size Tuft and Needle bed (all brand new). The three sided view from the bedroom is absolutely amazing and backing into any spot with beautiful scenery feels like waking up in heaven. The kitchen has a huge deep stainless steel farm sink, large four burner propane stove and comes with both an Insta Pot and air fryer. The skoolie has 140 gallons of freshwater storage and 75 gallons of grey water storage, large static propane tank, propane instant water heater, diesel area heater that heats the entire bus, spray foam insulation, 760 watts of solar panels (2 large panels), 550 amp hours of new Lithium batteries, Xantrex Freedom XC 2000W True Sine Wave Inverter/Charger, brand new 3800w Wen super quite generator, 30a shore power, Rover 40a mppt charge controller, Renogy 40a dc to dc battery charger, WiFi, cell booster, a MaxxFan Ventilator with remote control, and a lot more I’m sure I’m missing.
