This bus is being sold AS IS, WHERE IS 1996 Gillig Phantom 40’ transit bus, 43 passenger Vehicle Description York County Transportation Authority is offering this 1996 Gillig Phantom transit bus for sale. Bus was taken out of service on June 2018 due to it’s age and ending of the service it was used on. Bus is equipped with a Detroit series 50 four cylinder and Allison 5 speed transmission. It was running well when taken out of service, but it’s kind of a dog when taking off from a stand still. It has a Thermoking A/C system that had no issues when in use although on hot days it takes a while to cool down inside. It has a front door Lift-U wheel chair lift and two wheel chair positions in the bus. Bus will need new tires. We have had this bus for 8 years. It was a Foothill Transit bus in southern California prior to that. It has approximately 646,000 miles. Bus is being sold as is, where is. No warranties or guarantees of any kind. The successful bidder must pay for and remove bus within 7 days of close of auction, no exceptions. We are not a storage facility. If you are the high bidder and do not remove the bus within 7 days, you will be assessed a storage fee.
