Vehicle description
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY, THERE ARE CALIFORNIA MILEAGE RESTRICTIONS (but probably not in most other states): The Free Bookmobile of Sonoma County is selling its amazing 24’ Moroney bookmobile. Only two owners: it started life at a Kentucky library and then we brought it to the west coast. It’s been a total champ for us the past 9years. It must be picked up near Santa Rosa,CA. The California Air Resources Board says diesel vehicles of this weight musthave newer engines, so it’s now limitedto 999 miles per year within CA . Other states probably do not have the samerestrictions but be sure to investigate before bidding. Has only 102,368 miles, which is nothing for the Cummins turbo-diesel motor, they often last up to500,000 miles. Good torque! Main body is aluminum so will never rust. Straight body, no road accidents, just a few scratches and dings. Easy to drive (onlyclass C required) and runs great. Has been covered under a carport for past 7years. VIN:4UZM44E2XT2109626 - - CA reg. current through 2020 - - Check your state’s SMOG and import laws

KNOWNISSUES, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: 1) The motor burns some oil, needs topping off. One of thehoses is currently leaking a little as well, but oil doesn’t hit the ground. 2) Somedrips/leaks up front near the windows in the driver/passenger area in heavy rainstorms. Not anissue for the book/shelving area. We just keep a couple towels handy. 3) The RV-style canopythat extends from the side of the vehicle would need repair if desired, one ofthe arms is bent. 4) There are a couple of other scratches and dings frombumping fixed objects but no accidents, no body damage or frame issues. 5) Aftervehicle is driven at high speed (freeway) for long periods (1 hour+) on reallyhot days, occasionally the shared power steering/brakes pump cuts out for a fewminutes, beginning on the off-ramp. The brake has a backup system that kicks inautomatically so not a problem but the steering gets heavy/sluggish during that time. Often this doesn"t happen for several months straight so our shop can’t replicate the problem. All relevantequipment works great during standard diagnostics. You are welcome to talk toour mechanic before bidding, I can give you his contact info.
