Vehicle description
Survivor 1967 mustang fastback gasser or match race car out of Chicago. It was either built by or parts supplied by Erickson Speed Shop of Irving Park Road in Chicago. Originally built in 1969 with a 289 small block ford bored to 300 inches on gas, the car now sits with a 302 engine core, but still has the original Hilborn injection, Weiand timing cover, Moon tank, Hydra-link hydraulic throttle, headers and other speed parts that were purchased new for the car in 1969. The engine is backed with a chromed scattersheild with mid mounts and original numbers matching 1967 mustang 289 close ratio top loader 4 speed with a hurst shifter.
The front suspension was originally chromed and is all out of the 1969 CAE catalog with econoline spindles, magnesium American racing spindle mount wheels, and aftermarket reversed Corvair steering box. The rearend is a 9 inch ford with ladder bars, however, the rearend chunk is no longer with the car. The body has been heavily modified with heavy engine setback.
It maintains the original steel shell, but has been equipped with a fiberglass 1 piece tilt front end, and race weight fiberglass doors, all speculated to be Kellison products. In its racing glory this car was equipped with a Shelby GT500 body and tail light kit which, unfortunately, has been removed from the car decades ago. Both steel Shelby tail light conversion buckets are still with the car. The firewall and floor have been replaced in aluminum and fastened to a full rectangular tube chassis and full roll cage. Rear wheels are 15x7 Cragars with 9” Racemaster slicks.
Car was originally blue and silver panel painted and raced at US30 Dragway. SOLD WITH BILL OF SALE ONLY!
