This 1967 Mustang GT is 1 of only 77 built with the K-code HiPo engine and 4 speed combination and 1 of 33 ordered with the race suspension. Ordered in June of 1967 by a FoMoCo Dearborn engineer through Stark Hickey Ford-Royal Oak. Shortly after delivery the Mustang was sent to Kar Kraft Engineering for race prep and sponsorship was provided by Stark Hickey Ford. By 1969 SCCA decided to allow the new BOSS 302 engine to be used in a "67 notchback providing the "67 model looked more like a"68. Due to the Ford Engineering connection rare stamped steel "68 Team Shelby Trans-Am flared fenders and qtr panels were sourced through Kar Kraft. Once fitted the Mustang got a fresh coat of Wimbledon White, black hood/fender tops and a new BOSS 302 engine. If not the first, it was was one of the first notchback Mustangs to race with a BOSS 302 engine in SCCA A/S. Raced by Ford Dearborn engineers from 1967-75 in SCCA A/S Regional-National level. Also rally events including the Press on Regardless Rally and an FIA Canadian winter stage rally. Drivers were FoMoCo employees.
Engine is all new except the intake manifold. Dart 302W 4-bolt main, early TFS high port cast iron heads, Crower roller cam, Crower shaft rocker assy (similar to the TP302), new titanium valves, new lightweight Crower crank, new Crower rods, new Bud Moore style T/A road race oil pan, MSD distr, Tilton multi disc clutch assy, intake manifold is a 2-4V Ford C6OA-5424-A intake manifold with new twin Holley carbs, "68 Team Shelby T/A style airbox, custom made stainless steel headers, new aluminum radiator, high amp alternator with original HiPo pulley, close ratio Toploader built by Bill Hyde of Ford Engineering X garage back in the day, 9 inch rear, 31 spl Detroit locker, 4.11 R&P, Ford engineering staggered shock rear, narrow T/A rear springs, DOZX rear track bar, new aluminum driveshaft, new Pyrotect aluminum fuel cell, SW gauges, Jones tach, MSD box w/rev limiter hidden behind glovebox door, Lifeline fire system, 15"x 8" magnesium American Racing Torque Thrust wheels on Goodyears. Original data plate on driver"s door, both VIN numbers are in the inner fender aprons, Marti report and body buck tag, extensive paperwork, photos, log books and spare magnesium wheels.
Only 5 hours run time since the 2015-2016 bare metal rotisserie restoration by R&R Motorsports. One test day at Indy and one race weekend at VIR Gold Cup in 2017
