Vehicle description
The year was 1957 and manufacturers were building some beautiful and advanced sports cars. Racing was in full swing with specially constructed racers such as this Falcon Competition MK II Works racer. The Barchetta"s as they are referred to are lightweight 2 seat streamlined open cars built for racing. This Works racer ran Silverstone in 1960, Daytona 1961 (19th) Cumberland 1961(DNF) and Daytona 1962. The engine is the original 997 cc 105 E English Ford race prepared 4 cylinder fed through two 40 DCOE Weber carbs. The transmission is the correct matching 105E 4 speed. The tubular frame for this sports/racer is a Len Terry designed and built Terrier frame. The Falcon is titled/licensed to drive on the streets. During the restoration every aspect of the Falcon Competition was either renewed to new condition or replaced with new parts. All of the parts sourced for the restoration were from the U.K. The only exception is the fuel cell and steering wheel that were sourced in the USA. This Falcon is your passport to drive on any roads and or race any of the vintage events you may chooses to run. The Falcon Competition prototype runs on pump gas as well as race fuel so you can choose when.where and how you use the car.
