Vehicle description

1944 Fairchild PT-19 manufactured by Aeronca.
This plane was in process of being converted to a boat when previous owner deceased. It has many of the original parts in place. Other parts included are the tail surfaces, as pictured. These have no obvious damage.
The original wheels were used to make the trailer this is currently sitting on.
It appears that the fuselage was cut behind the front cockpit and a Continental A65 engine was installed as a pusher engine. The original engine was removed and flotation was installed in that area. The original engine is not present.
Much of the original cockpit is still intact.
Wings are not present.
More photos are available.
Would consider selling the Continental A65 engine without the rest of the airplane.
This plane in its present condition can provide parts for a complete rebuild. This plane could also be reassembled/modified further to make a static display, for businesses or airports.
Buyer pickup only, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. Deposit required, balance on pickup. Pickup time is flexible, to be scheduled with seller.
