Vehicle description
The time has come to sell our "Buttercup" 1989 Crown Super Coach. 40 feet (two axles not a tandem) in pristine original condition. I am the second owner. This bus was purchased new by Alpine School District in San Diego County. At the time there was one driver proficient to drive the bus and she only drove in the afternoon. Hence the low original miles of 97,335K on the 6-71 Detroit clean engine. 5-speed manual transmission.
This bus is museum quality. If your looking for a bus to convert, this bus is solid to the point no words can describe. The midship engine gives the vehicle stability not found in vehicles with rear or front engines. Tires, paint, body, brake pads and batteries are in new condition. All fluids have been serviced within the year. Seats in as shown in the photos. The roof was in need of a seal and paint. Heritage Truck and Auto body provided the repair, seal, and paint which is the only major repair contributing to the beauty of the bus.
This bus has a battery shut off switch, after sitting for more than two years, she fired right up and continues to be tried and true. She was showcased last year at the Fresno ride and drive event held by Al Jennings and fellow Crown Bus enthusiasts.
Possible delivery and driving lessons available. A video of all gauge setting on the freeway at 65mph available upon request. This site does not allow videos. The bus and in this condition is equivalent to the rarest of gems!
