Vehicle description
1944 Dodge WC-52, the classic "Weapons Carrier". Used, but in over all decent shape. Some rust spots, but not bad. It does have a bullet hole, a corner cut from one of the fenders and a hole cut in the tool box. I"ll take photos and post these. Not sure why or for what but they"re pretty small. Engine turns over. Needs to have restoration completed. The transmission seems to shift through all the gears, and the clutch seems to work. I never drove this truck so I don"t know for sure, but it"s not frozen. The PTO shifts in and out. The divorced transfer-case shifts in and out. The door-hinge lock out for the PTO is still there. Numerous spare parts, new tires and tubes, new bed kit, new fuel and oil pump, new gas and brake lines, slave and master cylinders, most new parts not installed, some still in packing. Fuel tank is from an M-37 but is in good shape. Five new tires, two mounted. Spare mount (Midwest Mil. Repro), 12 volt regulator, generator (USGI), new wood bed kit (repro). Most parts are from VPW or MidWest Mil. Winch drum turns freely, most parts are present to get this winch working. At one point I greased all the zirks on the truck and they all took grease fairly easily. Several zirks are missing on rear suspension shackles. Never got around to those. This truck even has the original oil can, in the original holder, somewhat dusty but complete, not rusted out, the spring clips still work. I bought some parts to start the process for putting in glass. The windshield wipers move, manually back and forth, they"re not frozen. Wheels all turn, right rear is a bit grumpy, think the shoes are dragging, but it will roll. The frame horns are in really good shape. Never been crashed as so many have been. Has the original drivers side mirror and two repro rear views from VPW. Horn button is present and works, also has the original horn, but I never put power to them so they might not function, but they"re present. I think most of the gauges are original. The plywood map tray is long gone, but the glove box is complete, not rusted out, dirty but there. The door works well, and snaps shut. There is a dent in the rear tool box, I"ll photograph it and put it up. I"ll highlight all the down sides so that they can be seen. Comes with six original "combat" rims. One is rusty, a hard surface rust, the "cake pan" on the inside is there but probably not worth messing with. The two mounted tires were mounted w/o them, just the rim strips, tubes and tires. One of the wheels is missing a stud and nut. Most of the decontamination bottle mount is there but it"s missing some pieces, like the strap.
