NO RESERVE
I just bought this bus from Ventura School District at auction with two other buses. I was excited about this bus because it only has 145,000 miles and it was in great shape. It looks fantastic, the inside is almost immaculate, has almost perfect tires and it was inspected last year. The engine is a Detroit diesel in the rear of the bus. The last years of Crown buses they put the engines in the back and not the belly. Crown"s have the best quality of all the buses. I went to pick up this bus on June 9, 2017, placed batteries in it and attempted to start. It started for one second before it turned off. The engine will now not turn over. I"m not a diesel mechanic and it"s not worth towing home 200 miles from Ventura to Palm Springs, Ca. Thus the reason it"s for sale. There is a signed California title for the bus with no back fees as it was previously exempt from registration. The bus must be towed from the location.
There is a date on the back of the engine with a date it was overhauled. I can"t remember the date, but it was within the last five years. There is one rust spot on the body just below the driver side from window. The rest of the bus looks fantastic and is not rusty. This bus is still a great buy if someone was handy enough to fix it. I do not have the time to fix it. Please email me with any questions. Leave your number and ill call you back. Thank you
